Always seeing sales of "Found phones" Now in this country found and not handing it in to the police also means stolen.
Ebays report function seems to lack the choice of "Stolen goods"
Sales like this one are what I am going on about. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150866965461&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en

Also, you could report the listing for the seller offering a discount for buying outside eBay to avoid eBay costs

Only police can use that method of reporting somthing. No wonder so many stolen phones are sold on ebay.
"Reports of stolen property on eBay need to come from a law enforcement official. This reporting reason is for law enforcement"

A normal person would remove the SIM and put it in another phone to try and find a phone number to call to return it.

What a horrible listing - as in, distress for the person who lost the phone.
My son was travelling on a street bus down Melbourne. His phone fell out of his pocket and he didn't notice.
A lovely lady found it, looked through the phone contacts and saw 'Mummy' (l put it there like that!).
She rang it, spoke to me and got my son's address so she could return it. How nice is that?
l thought ' must ring son to tell him that a lady is returning his phone and that prehaps he should buy some chocolates or something.'
Of course, l rang his mobile to tell him......Doh!
That seller should be ashamed of himself.

Most iPhones are set up with "find my phone" which allows you to use GPS to located them and also diable/delete the phone by remote control. So that phone is probably locked and unable to be used. OK for spares, that's about all.
