I have just changed all my listings to free post with a registered post option, today I send an invoice to a buyer who bought 2 seperate items and when I checked the invoice before sending I noticed the registered post charges were added to the total and not the free shipping, I had to manually change it.
This happened every now and then when I was charging for postage, I know that buyers can choose the postage options when paying for things, but is there any way to get the free post set automatically first so when I do need to send invoice I don't have to check and change it.
Not sure but I don't think I have done anything wrong, I have checked my account preferences and can't find anything about postage preferences.

Any buyer will not pick registered post as a choice to pay when paypal is their protection.
Registered post your protection not the buyers so why would a buyer choose to pay the extra when they do not need to too?
Did the purchases get done before you changed tho the free post option?

Did you check with the buyer? Could be that they chose registered instead of the free post option.

Purchases were made after I changed to free post. But like I said this happened before as well.

The invoice has not been paid yet, they purchased the items early today and I have sent the invoice a couple hours later

I just checked your listings and Free post is coming up as the default for all your listings, with the option to pay $3.50 for registered if they want. What I mean is maybe the buyer knowingly chose to have it registered. I guess that does seem odd but maybe they thought it would give them some extra assurance of the item arriving.

This is a random glitch which happens and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
For some unknown reason, at times, the postage option defaults to registered post when sending a combined invoice, even if registered post is the second or third postage option offered.

Sorry, I had completely the wrong idea... nevermind my last post. Not sure how to fix that but someone will know.

I have this same thing with my listings, I offer 2 options but the standard postage does not go through with the invoice, it is the registered usually (the second postage option).
I think the buyer can still select the other option even though it comes up with the registered in the sold items list, but I am not 100% sure.
I would also like some help with this.
Cheers, Dylan

Many buyers will pick registered postage as an option if it is offered.
Many buyers want their item and would rather pay a little extra for registered post to give their parcel the best chance of arriving.
They are not really interested in Buyer Protection as it is more important to them that they receive their item.
