Hi, I'm curious about the postage on Ebay, some of sellers, their products show free postage, but when you click in, and put your postcode on there, they charge for your area. How can they do that???? Thanks

Most likely postage is based on the buyer's location
In which case it is perfectly on the level

Some sellers have 'free' postage but just within certain areas close to them where the rates may be cheaper.
Other areas, such as interstate or overseas they then charge an amount which is based on the buyer's postcode/distance.

Some sellers factor the free postage into the item's selling price, depending on if they are selling in Australia or overseas.

I offer world-wide free postage. I calculated actual postage cost over a 3 month period then averaged it over the number of sales. This amount was added to the item price. Some pay a little less than actual cost, some a little more. I re-calculate it every so often.
BIG benefit is I do not have to combine invoices nor give postage discounts on multiple purchases. If a buyer wins multiple items I might combine them, I might not - really is my decision based on actual postage cost.
This has been working well for years.
