I have had 2 ridiculous chat conversations with people who are completely out of their depth. The second one Lungoi said "In order to resolve this issue for you I will need to escalate this to a specialized team who will investigate your concern and send you a reply via email". Let's hope this happens.
Ebay recently (since mid-Feb 2023) began to put funds for sold items on hold if they have no tracking. Funds will be paid three days after expected delivery date. This is unethical & unfair, in fact downright appalling. If funds are released at some future date it is hard for sellers to keep track of them. Some items are unable to have tracking. I sell hundreds of CDs and ship them by large letter which is the most economical. Letters have no tracking. Questions Ebay must answer immediately:
1. Why should I be penalised for these type of items (when Untracked Letter is an option on the shipping page). 2. When and why was this change implemented? 3. Were sellers informed of this change? If so, when?
I demand to have my funds for ALL sales released immediately as before.
Anyone know what this deplorable change is all about?

Good thought thanks, had been thinking myself that may be it. Used to advertise as untracked letter but that didn't seem to translate properly to International Shipping automatic cost calculation, so I started advertising as standard parcel which seemed to mostly work although auto calculation still tends to not be available sometimes. So maybe there is no connection after all. Dunno.

All our items are sent with tracking, the tracking doesn't show events on ebay been like this for 2 years however all our funds go on hold but release within 5 days. Regardless if we have sent or not, or if there is a tracking number. If you are having holds for a long time likely something else thats an issue.

As I explained, don't advertise parcels if you are going to send by letter.
That is where you have fallen foul of eBay's metrics.
Simple.
And, as S&D and twyngwyn noted, large letters do indeed come with tracking if you want to use it.
Easier just to adjust your advertised postage method to the one you plan to use.
