Funds on hold due to no tracking - unethical

I have had 2 ridiculous chat conversations with people who are completely out of their depth. The second one Lungoi said "In order to resolve this issue for you I will need to escalate this to a specialized team who will investigate your concern and send you a reply via email".  Let's hope this happens.

Ebay recently (since mid-Feb 2023) began to put funds for sold items on hold if they have no tracking. Funds will be paid three days after expected delivery date. This is unethical & unfair, in fact downright appalling. If funds are released at some future date it is hard for sellers to keep track of them. Some items are unable to have tracking. I sell hundreds of CDs and ship them by large letter which is the most economical. Letters have no tracking. Questions Ebay must answer immediately:
1. Why should I be penalised for these type of items (when Untracked Letter is an option on the shipping page). 2. When and why was this change implemented? 3. Were sellers informed of this change? If so, when?

I demand to have my funds for ALL sales released immediately as before.

Anyone know what this deplorable change is all about?

You can demand all you like.

eBay neither read nor respond to board posts.

As stawks has shown, the problem would appear to be on your end.

I send at least half my sales as untracked letters, clearly advertised as such, and have had no holds applied. Even today, which is after mid-Feb 2023.

Maybe you are advertising tracked postage, which will have impacts if you don't send using a tracked method. You seem to be advertising 'standard parcel', which is by default a tracked service.

There is a set percentage, under which eBay's automated metrics apply. No appeal.

If sending as a letter, I suggest you use 'untracked letter' as your advertised postage method.

Probably something to do with the OP having HARP in their username. We all know how bad it is having any association with a harp.

Hi,

Read my post on how they have calculated my fees, they dont even add up. And yes, I was mucked around by the postage drama, you dont seem to be able to a) use the site easily, b) get fees that actually add up.

And the pathetic support...please be assured .. all i well and .... yeah, endless emails and endless amazement that I tried to sell 2 x tickets and here I am ... damn

Be afraid , be very afraid

Sheesh

Send with tracking then, then you won't have an issue. There is letter tracking now, which is different to "registered post", maybe you should familiarise yourself with that.

Large letters don't have tracking. I would need to send by parcel and then I wouldn't make a profit.
