Dear XXXXXXX,

We were recently notified that one of your buyers has requested a
chargeback and asked their credit or debit card issuer to reverse a payment
made to you on 24 Feb 2014.

The buyer claims that this purchase was made without authorisation to use
the credit or debit card. Their card issuer needs additional information
from you about this transaction.

What to do next
-----------------------------------

Please respond within 10 days so that we can help resolve this chargeback.
To respond, log in to your PayPal account and go to the Resolution Centre
to provide information about this transaction.

The credit or debit card issuer, not PayPal, decides if the buyer's claim
is legitimate. Once the card issuer receives your information, it may take
up to 75 days to make a final decision.

Because the card issuer has reversed the charge for this transaction, we've
placed a temporary hold on the funds until the case is resolved. This hold
only applies to the funds for this transaction. You can access any
remaining balance of funds in your PayPal account. Our user agreement
explains our policies on holding funds.

The buyer has the hour meter, paypal excepted the credit card and now they put a hold on my funds.

Have you provided proof of post to paypal ?

If you have, thats your seller protection - so give them a bell, and they should be able to refund your funds straight away whilst you wait.

Hi,

Yes we have, but that's not what the buyers claiming.

The buyer is claiming someone used his C.C without his consent.

I hope you also have a good outcome. It is quite strange because the buyer who is claiming the chargeback from us due to apparent 'unauthorised payment' has already left negative feedback for the item and discussed the item they received from me in ebay messages which have all been submitted as evidence in the paypal case. Plus the postage info says the item was delivered and signed for by the buyer.

Ain't no way i'm losing this one and if Paypal tries to decide not in my favour i'm gonna take them down with me. I will go as far as getting myself a lawyer and taking it to court. It really has come to this... lol

What the buyer claims should not stop paypal releasing your $$$.

Seller protection offers you coverage for any credit card chargeback.  Thats part of the service sellers pay for when they use paypal.

IMO ring paypal ascertain reconfirm that the post proof you have provided them is satisfactory for seller protection eligibility and if it is, request immeadiate release of your funds.

Done it, and had funds back in account in minutes.  No whats, ifs or buts.

Either you are covered or you are not, if you are then there is no reason to withhold your funds.  It is Paypals risk in the transaction, not yours if you qualify for seller protection.

Thank you. I wasn't entirely concious of that fact. But you have made it so much clearer. and it really bothers me that I am spending my time defending a chargeback when it isnt my responsibility anyway. Paypal should be doing it, not me.

Here Here, we have to waste out time defending a fictitious claim, if the card was used fraudulently as the buyer is claiming, then why is that the sellers (my) problem?

I'm with you all the way, i will take this case outside of ebay and paypay if i have to, my case is for a lously $40.00 now this same thing happened thru my www site and i wore it, that was only $25.00 odd, now if this is allowed to continue paypal and ebay will have no sellers because they have allowed us to go broke from fraud.

Paypal can not be that stupid, can they?

You need to have proof of addressee to 100% qualify for paypal seller protection (sometimes they overlook this, but not when it is their dosh I think).

Click and Send, a Post Office stamped lodgement form. eBay post labels or e-parcel provides documentation with the required addressee proof - so if you have this, get it to them.

If you don't, and its not the norm to get it with Express Post, unless processing via the above means, then IMO it will be pushing it uphill to get your dosh back I am afraid Smiley Sad

Understood, but the buyer is NOT claiming he didn't get the item. The item is not the issue, the item has now become a side issue.

He's claiming someone used his C.Card without his consent.

What the buyer is claiming does not matter in this instance.

With a credit card chargeback, PayPal just want to know that you sent the package to the address they told you to. If / when you prove that you did, and they grant seller protection, it no longer matters what happens with the chargeback, PayPal will take on the liablity for it and even if the chargeback is successful and the money is returned to the bank / buyer, PayPal will do exactly what you want them to and pay for it themselves.

So, if you have documentation showing the address the package was sent to, you need to upload it to PayPal ASAP.
