Going bonkers

Trying to list a couple of new items this afternoon.

I have an item with 2 colours which I am putting in as a variation.

I keep getting this error (see pic), when trying to finalise the listing (I have marked the UPC's as "not applicable).

I have no idea where I am going wrong as this is the first time this has happened.

Maybe Ebay glitch?

Try going back to the global item specifics section and seeing if any of the UPC fields are there in error, as well as if they can be removed.

When I tried to replicate the issue last night, I copied an existing listing, but I'll try one from scratch and see if I can replicate it with that.

EDIT: just to confirm, are you listing from scratch, or using 'sell similar' on an existing listing?

I think it means you have to put the number in at each variation, not on the main listing page.  If you have different variations, it is possible they may have different numbers.

Thanks Penny - they have no numbers, they're just cushion covers. Normally I put the UPC as " does not apply", but today I just can't complete listings that have any type of variation.

Some odd things are happening today, I suspect they might be doing the regular site maintainance today instead of yesterday (it being Good Friday)

I think you're right Padi - I'm also now having pages which are crashing in the middle of listings and other random glitches.

I'm going to leave the listings for another couple of days until things hopefully get sorted out.

What that means is the price must be set in the varition feild not in the main listing.

Yes what Penny says is correct.

We have seen this error before too.

You have to put "Does not Apply" in for each variation where an item has variations.

But we have found that it also accepts them if you put it in as well at the product level.

If you have it on the variations and NOT at the product level you will get one of those "improve your listings" warnings when you display your Active Listings. So just to satisfy those we have put them in both places. All our stuff is "Does not Apply".

I use File Exchange to list lots of our stuff and when using that if you try to put them in both places for an item with variations you get an error and the item will not list. So their rules are very inconsistent.

Then when you do list the item you get the Active Listing warning I described above, so we manually revise the listing after it uploads to include them at the product level as well.

I tried to replicate the issue by not enetering anything in the UPC field of the variations and it wouldn't even let me proceed to the next stage until UPCs were set (and gave a completely different warning message), so more than likely a glitch.
