Golden opportunity missed re wording of DSRs

Why, oh why did ebay NOT take the opportunity when rejigging the Seller Dashboard format to change the wording of the category of POSTAGE TIME to something like LODGEMENT TIME.

Its not as if they haven't had enough comment about it from sellers and there really is no logical or reasoned argument why they shouldn't. Afterall they are always on about how they want feedback to be an ACCURATE profile of seller performance. A change as indicated above would make the profile more accurate or at least to a move in the right direction.

Golden opportunity missed re wording of DSRs

One thing I have observed about eBay in the short time I've been doing this, is that it likes to keeps its sellers in constant check. I can't pinpoint exactly HOW eBay has nurtured the types of buyers we sometimes find here, but not changing terms like Postage Time, is one way in which pressure is exerted.

Don't get me wrong, I love eBay as a buying and selling platform. The system has high standards for good reason. However, eBay always expects more from its sellers. My theory is that many sellers will continue to ship things almost immediately to counteract the AusPost delivery time. Sometimes delivery does take place at lightning speed, at other times we're at the mercy of the system. It has bred impatience in many buyers. I don't think eBay minds this...

because ebay is pushing more and more for sellers to offer free postage which is more dollars for them in fvf but people are not stupid postage is never free as the cost of postage is added to cost of the item.

Exactly! And if you have to raise the cost of your item even more to cover the postage expense, then that raises Ebay's FVF even more if you sell the item, as the FVF is charged on the selling price not the postage cost. It makes it hard to be price competitive. It's definitely a "win-win" for Ebay.

Because that would be commonsense.

Instead we will just pretty it up, waste valuable time, effort and money doing something that wasn't needed or asked for.

Yes, and being as usual completely unresponsive to the perfectly reasonable comments and suggestions of sellers!!!

I no longer do their surveys that they claim will help to improve ebay. Its a complete waste of time and effort

I'm sick of my voice not being heard, as evidenced by the fact that nothing I (and many other sellers) EVER mention is acted upon.

The question actually asked when a buyer leaves feedback is - How quickly did the seller post the item?

So the issue is buyers not reading the question correctly, not eBay not asking the correct question.

Do you actually have expectations that buyers will read things accurately ?? Some do, most don't !

I don't know about other sellers, but I constantly get questions sent to me re details of my sale items, the information for which is clearly stated in the description I've provided. I no longer draw their attention to this fact when responding. I just provided polite answers.

So do I. And I don't expect buyers to be able to read.

My point is related to your OP. There was no need for eBay to reword the DSRs as they are worded correctly.

But... If that's the case, and buyers aren't paying attention to the question they're asked when they leave feedback, why would Lodgement Time on the FB profile make a difference?
