Good till cancelled out of stock items been deleted

Hello all I have a few good till cancelled items on my eBay for sale and I had 3 items that were out of stock they appeared on my listings even when out of stock for quite sometime. I went to order some this week to fill up my stock and I logged intoebay to update the listings and all 3 have been deleted so have lost all my page views, qty sold feedback on them etc. My question is how long do you have for an item to be out of stock before eBay deletes it?

Some sellers have reported that some of their listings remain available for longer, but eBay's official timeframe is 3 listing cycles - that is, the item will end if it has been out of stock for 90 days. 

Occasionally I will add a quantity of 1 to a listing that's about to expire, just before it ticks over, then set it back to 0. Slightly risky, but if you time it right it's available for a very small window.

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense i see why lots of businesses put the price up sky high rather than allow it to go out of stock sometimes.
