Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

I was just sitting here, funnily enough reading this forum, when I could hear a motorbike outside. I thought awesome, mail man is here.

I wait, for a knock or for him to take off, but he is taking too long so I peer out the window.....and what do I find?

Postman writing out a card for me to pick up item from post office!

What the? He didn't even attempt to come to my front door to see if I was home to sign for it!

Well didn't he just cop of mouthful from me!

Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

being a former parcel delivery person nothing annoyed me more than some fool who ordered tons of parcels but couldn't be bothered getting a decent mailbox to hold them.

What if they're renting? They can't exactly request the owner rip out the old mailbox and give them a new one so they don't have to go to the PO to collect parcels

When I was renting, I let the parcel delivery person know a safe place they could leave it, eg; woodbox on verandah, between the doors.  What annoyed me were the people who complained about being carded, but never made an effort to remedy the problem by offering an alternative.

My postie rode his bike up my drive and launched my parcel towards the front door. It slid along the verandah and stopped at the doorstep. Gave new meaning to airmail.

I saw it happen but he was gone by the time I got out there.

" And no they don't have all day to deliver. doh!! "

The contractors return to my local delivery centre by 4:30 pm and and I can't remember seeing posties returning very early.

A large plastic container with a lid and 2 big signs on it is next to me front door and not all parcels are put in it. It's more fun and quicker for Aus Post staff to throw them onto the verandah.

I used to be on the bike till 6.30 some nights, and 5.30 was a minimum with sorting starting at 9am and I only finished at those time through cutting corners. Like I said don't knock it till you've tried it because you really don't know what your talking about.

But, ignorance is bliss I suppose.

Ahh your from the old school, never did the early starts. I was a DMO so I just basically sorted my bundles for the day and spent the rest of the day on that horrible little bike.

I still hate the CT110 to this day.

If I was very unhappy with Aus Post's service in general I'd  tell them and I'd tell you. People are allowed to give examples of bad service they've received.

Fair enough.

What I'm saying is, is that the job is almost seemed impossible to me sometimes, and people should try to appreciate that. Aussie post has changed a lot over the last few years, and not for the better. Particularly in regards to the treatment of their own staff.
