Hi - new to selling on ebay & I've just gone through the process of listing all the details of my item & am now at the "confirm your identity by phone", I've entered my phone details (mobile phone) & when I receive the call the automated voice tells me to press #4 for example which I then press but nothing happens, it then keeps asking me to press #4 then after 3 goes hangs up. I've tried about 20 times plus rang ebay but still no luck, is there something really simple i'm missing??

I thought you needed a landline not a mobile to confirm your id.

Your phone is obviously not sending out the touch tone (for #4) that is needed.
Get back to that same screen again...
Just open a new window, click on Customer Help
http://ocs.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CustomerSupport&entrysrc=GlobalHeader
Choose "Contact Ebay" tab, then My Account then Registering. Then click on "Call Us" and phone them.

Many years ago there used to be a site where you could generate the 'bleep' for each number and if you held your phone close to the computer speaker it would work instead of presing the key.
I have lost the link but you may be able to find something similar if you google.

Have you found out how to solve this issue? I'm having the exact same problem.. have tried on both a touch mobile and a different mobile (don't have a landline) and nothing has worked. Phoned eBay and tried to tell them the issue but got some foreign person that couldn't understand what I was trying to say...

You know how on a standard phone, you push buttons and it makes beeps? Those are called DTMF tones. That's what the computer on the other end will be listening for.
Many mobiles have an option to toggle DTMF off and on. If yours has it off, you'll need to find the setting and enable it again. If you can't find it yourself, check the manual, check the manufacturer's website, or call the manufacturer.
If you have a local mobile phone shop, there's a good chance they can assist.
