Ok, so I answer a "for sale" advertisement for a Winnebago RV that I was wanting to purchase.
I live in QLD and the vehicle is in Tas.
The seller advises me that she is using "eBay" as the "middle man" basically to process the funds and as a safety measure for both buyer and seller....
I was sent an invoice from eBay with the terms and conditions which all sounded reasonable....
When I went to the bank to organise the transaction I was informed that it is possibly a scam. I showed the bank the invoice from eBay which she said looked legit but really, how many scams DON'T LOOK LEGIT?????
At the bottom of the invoice is a phone number that I can call however I was advised by the bank to NOT CALL THIS NUMBER but to go home and Google eBay motors phone number and see if the same number or different one shows up...I did this, but can't find any numbers except for the same "international" one that appears everywhere..
Has anyone experienced anything like this before themselves? Can anyone advise me on what number it is to call?
