Just sold some eggs and was disgusted to see ebay applied their percentage fee to include the postage netting them a final total of 21% of the profits. And I was undercharging on the postage too. And of course there's no contactable address to complain about this blatant thievery. They could make billions taking a fair cut (maybe 2%-10%) but I guess they figure they're big enough to do whatever they want. Ah well back to gumtree.

Ebay fees are around 13.4% (depending on category) and have been for years. You will pay more if you promoted the listing, however.
All online commerce platforms charge in excess of 13%, so I'm not sure why you feel Ebay should be the exception?
The fact that you undercharged the buyer on postage is hardly Ebay's fault!
Nobody is forcing you to sell here, but when you do, you accept all the Terms and Conditions, which includes the fees and which are fully displayed for you to review before listing anything.

You are skating on very thin ice by listing fertile eggs on eBay. If they had have been reported you would have likely got a policy infringement violation.

Have you registered for Managed Payments - if not you may see none of it.
What a thing to sell on Ebay. Just my opinion.

But compared to the Uni of Google - eBay is winning hands down - a lesson every day.
If you're looking to incubate your eggs, then the only way to tell if the egg is fertile is by incubating it for a few days, and then candling the egg to see its progress.
This involves going into a dark room, and shining a bright light underneath the large end of the egg. If the egg is fertile, then you should see a dark spot around the middle of the egg, with some spider-like veins beginning to form around it.

Apart from the ethics of listing eggs, eBay have charged fees on postage for at least EIGHT years. Maybe look at padi's link, as well as what fees will be charged in the event of a sale. Not hidden, something you have agreed you have read and understood when you opened your selling account.

Ah well! No loss, Stick to what you know, which is obviously not ebays T&C's, which have been in effect since before you joined ebay.

First rule-wherever you sell, always look up or find out the selling fees or stall fees before you go ahead.
