Has anyone had listings removed for missing identifiers and had this happen?

I had some items missing identifiers and they got cancelled, I then relisted (adding the missing info) some of them  from the unsold list. The thing is after relisting the few items they now display in the unsold list the following:

"eBay note: This listing has been cancelled due to a violation of our Duplicate listings policy. See "My Messages" for more details.

The listings (relists) are still active but ebay are now saying that originally they were removed because of duplication, which they are not (and didn't ever get an email saying such a thing). Just about the missing identifiers.

Relisting triggers that displayed message.

I phoned them and they said that it was all OK.

I emailed them and they told me the policy.

Just change the description around.

They will not come up as identical.
