Hey guys,
This may have been posted before however.
With ebay removing sellers ability to use listing addons like the feature plus ($49.99) how are the small starts suposed to compete with better ranked big dogs of ebay?
With ebays "best match" a default most buyers will see the sellers with big feedback scores even if your item is cheaper and you have small feedback.
Any tips/ideas?
Thanks in advance to all you wonderful people ๐

Thanks for your reply. I am aware that free postage helps with listing ranks ๐

In your listings, and in all other correspondance, teach people how to get rid of Best Match as the search default.
Everyone will thank you for it - Best match is hated by Buyers and Sellers alike.

It is almost impossible to make a success of selling with a store with only one item on offer, especially a cheap item.
If you increased the number of different thing you sold to at least 50 then you may have more chance of success.

Is there a way to stop it being the default search?
I usually manually change mine to *ending first* but if best Match didnt come up at all, would be wonderful ๐

Thanks everyone for your replys, keep them comming.
I believe the 'best match' is a default set buy ebay.
It goes along the line of the gallery feature ($14.95) - who really will click a small button on the listings menu? ive never done it myself when searching for items.

It is really quite simple to set your search preferences...I have had mine set the same way since I first started using ebay 10 years ago...it takes a couple of minutes

btw...you would be surprised how many people DO click on a small button on a listing page...everyone I know who uses ebay hates the so called Best Match and has adjusted their settings accordingly.

Use great images ..well cropped
Offer free EXPRESS postage with only 1 day handling
Offer a refund policy that allows the buyer a full year, money back, no questions asked and return postage compensation and put the item on sale for 90% off and you will be sure to make it to the top. Then after you have outsold the big dogs you will realise you made negative profit. ๐
