Help have a bad gut feeling I am about to be acammed

I sell new with tags items for approx $50
Each. A buyer from America has bought $700 worth and asked
Me to invoice directly through PayPal not eBay. She has bought from 3 of my accounts and wants one invoice

She is super nice and has bought off me twice before. Her feedback is good but she has paid top dollar for my items and not asked for a discount on postage or items. Paid more
Than she would of she bought on shops! She has bought 3600
Items on eBay and never sold on eBay yet all my items are mixed sizes. Her fb is good

I will send with tracking but any other advice
On how to protect myself to say her package
Contains what I say it will would be appreciated

Call me paranoid just have a bad feeling about this one

Thanks in advance

All the things you have presented here look OK to me.

She is nice and has bought from you before with no problems.

She has a good track record on feedback.

What is it that gives you a bad feeling?

  • Send with tracking and SOD as its USA.
  • Buy insurance.
  • Have someone with you to witness what you pack and send who would be prepared to sign a stat dec in the worst case event.
  • Take a note of the final weight of the packed package, even get that recorded on the PO lodgement receipt.
  • Take photos as you are packing.

Just a few things I would do if I felt nervous. Others might have other suggestions.

To generate an invoice with all the goods on it, you can only do that through Paypal to cover sales from multiple IDs and you still have seller protection by processing a payment this way.

In Paypal when you create an invoice you can also include a line for each Item - I would advise itemising and including the eBay listing number (and see below you may wish to include individual weight of garment).

For that amount I would insure the contents, no matter where it was going to.

Doesn't sound like a sus buyer really -  if they have purchased from you before and are a big spender on eBay.

But as mentioned above, if you are concerned that the buyer may say that the parcel is short goods, you could include the individual weights of items on the paypal invoice (that way it is there for paypal to see in event of a dispute) and you could also take photos of the unwrapped goods on scales  to keep just in case and then take a photo of the goods packaged on the post office scales.  Make sure your Post Office paperwork for sending shows exact package weight also.

Doesn't sound like you will need it though, just sounds like a happy return customer, may she onsells in a retail store, who knows.

BUT..... if you have a niggling something is going to go pair shaped I think don't ignore that feeling, cover yourself as best as you can.

I would say to her that you can only sell to her through eBay otherwise you could be penalised for an off-eBay transaction, which is true. More experienced boardies would be able to tell you how to send with signature on arrival.

Should you be concerned about the sale then take a few photos of the parcel showing all the goods in there, preferably with a witness, and another photo at the post office when you hand it over the counter showing the weight of it after paying the postage.

You would be wise to take out full insurance of the parcel as well.

The seller may well have another eBay ID for selling, or has a shop to onsell them through.

"edit" slower than usual today guys........................sigh.

Sending a paypal invoice for eBay transactions is not selling off eBay padi - as long as you process the sale my marking as paid within eBay and upload tracking details etc etc.

You would still have Paypal seller protection as long as you sent with sufficient tracking and signature on delivery (you have to show proof of delivery on the US site, not just proof of posting) however I am not sure where you would stand if the buyer opened an ebay dispute rather than a Paypal claim when the parcel contains items from different accounts.

It is irrelevant how many eBay IDs are involved in a paypal transaction.

As long as the goods are invoiced together and paid for in a single payment thats all that matters.
