Just wondering if anyone else continually has problems with Ebays holiday settings? I've been using them for a number of years now but seems most buyers seem to ignore them or simply don't see the tiny message at the top of the listings - then I receive abuse because there is a delay in their delivery and I'm not always contactable. I have called Ebay about this problem over the years and always get told "they'll look into it" but nothing has been changed. I know other friends who are sellers and they say the setting is useless but seems you have to either hide all your items or leave them on to be purchased "instantly" and then the buyers are given a delivery time which is impossible! As a seller who pays quite large fees for supposed store service from Ebay I'm getting a little ticked off with this and wondered if anyone else feels the same? Seems you can't put in an official complaint and I'm sure when you call customer service they never send your issues on anyway - when is Ebay actually going to become more "user friendly and servicable" for sellers?

I would hide your listings , so they can't purchase. If its only couple days away leave them on.
I normally close a few days earlier before I leave on holidays. ( when I had a store) which I am thinking of opening again.

I put a message in each listing in RED, BOLD font. Usually something similar to -
"Seller is out of office until blah blah. Postage will be delayed and all purchases made until this date will be posted on blah blah date. If this delay is unacceptable to you, or you have concerns about this delay, please do not purchase."
buyers still purchase and Ive never had a problem.
It only takes 20 minutes for me to copy and paste this message into around 250 listings.

If you'd rather not hide your listings, probably the next best thing is to increase your handling time - that way, the ETA, which is shown to everyone whether they're on a PC or mobile app etc will adjust accordingly, and it would seem most people actually pay attention to it.
You should be able to do that in bulk via Selling Manager.
