How are your sales?

Hi community,

Just wondering if your sales are as tragic as mine have been lately? I had a mini surge just before the end of last month, and have had absolutely nothing this month!! Really unheard of, think I am being punished for my comments last month?

So how are your sales?

Over 50% of my items get sent large letter with no tracking. Yes, mail to WA is SLOOOOOW from rural NSW. It's also slow to Victoria for some reason, it can take up to 3 weeks. Anyone from WA, Vic, NT or FNQ, I send a message and let them know that delivery may take longer than the estimate that eBay puts in the listing.

I give them MY estimate on how long it might take. I have not had a single problem by doing this. The only time I've been contacted by Vic buyers was when I forgot to send them a message and they sent me a message (not opened a dispute) saying the item hadn't arrived yet. As it was around 2 weeks since I posted, I asked if they would wait another week as mail is slow to there and if it's still not arrived, I'd be happy to refund. 

2 buyers sent a message a couple of days later saying it arrived and thanked me profusely and left great feedback and 5 stars for everything. The other buyer didn't contact me and never left feedback, so I can only assume that it arrived.

I don't know if it's wise to tar everyone with the same brush. Years ago I got a neg from a buyer in Sydney (pick up item which she spent over 2 hours inspecting, then drove away with it, the her husband got mad with her as she wasn't supposed to buy it. That ended up in court, which I won). The other was just a miserable piece of work from Perth, who didn't leave feedback but was very difficult and is now on my BBL. It would be easy to say I'm not going to sell to anyone in Sydney or Perth because I had a bad experience. I have had lots of wonderful buyers from both those cities.

Rural and remote people don't have the same access to things as those in the city or towns. These days they depend on online shopping. I think you could be losing out on a lot of sales and repeat buyers by blocking too many locations. City people have the opportuniry to shop around locally and if they find something cheaper, they will buy it as opposed to buying it online. Rural and remote people will buy it online because it saves them a 5 hour trip to town.

Yes, you are missing something. It's called a forum posting ID. Ichi has a few other accounts that they buy and sell on.

I listed some new items last night to use the last of the 100 free listings and was getting bids within minutes of them being listed. I would list something, and while I was doing the next one, the previous one got a bid. I did wonder how quickly listings went live in the search after hitting the go button and it seems it must be nearly instant! Either that, or the buyers had me as a favourite seller.

Since my last comment here, I actually received 5 orders last night - at last, maybe my lights are flickering on again (nothing this morning, but that's ok), so long as I'm not in the dark again already

Me too!!! Slowest I have had since starting selling I reckon, no sales for two weeks!!! No enquiries, very few offers even insulting ones!! Still I have my morals and integrity............worth far more than some pieces of paper!!

I think I am in complete darkness, nothing I do seems to motivate sales, it is very bleak
