How can I add tracking?

on an item I will be selling?  I'm not using pre printed labels.

in Customer Support it says to go to Sold items then tick the Add tracking box,

but is hasn't sold yet so am confused.

How can I add tracking?

A tracking number is not really useful to anyone unless the item has been posted, which in turn requires it to be sold, generally. So you are only able to add tracking to sold items. There will be a link to add it once the item has been sold, but I wouldn't put it there unless the item has been paid for and posted.
