How can I remove the item description on the feedback page? The feedback is fine but for privacy reasons I don't want others to see what I buy or sell.

How can I remove the item description on the feedback page?

If you do not want others to see what you sold you need to select that option while you are listing your item.  There is a box to tick - "Private listing", which is just under the auction duration drop menu, in the "Choose a format and price"section.  If that option does not appear, click on the  "Add or remove options"link next to the section heading and you can enable it from there.  The item description will not then be visible in the FB pages.

The only way you can keep your purchases private is if you have a separate ID for buying and make it private from here:   http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/feedback/profile-public-private.html

However, if you do not have any items for same in this moment, you can turn your ID private, and you can keep your purchase secret, until you wish to sell.

Hi,

I am pretty sure that you can't remove the description from items that have already been sold, but follow this link to see How To Make Your Listing Private and use it for future listings.

You can't have private feedback if you intend to sell. It is for buyers only.

An ebay ID that no one knows about is the only way you can stop unwanted attention from others looking at your feedback as a buyer.

1 ID to buy another to sell and yet another if you post here

be warned though, that many buyers are suspicious of 'private listings'.  There have been many that come here to the boards saying that they feel that private listings allow sellers to bid on their own items and drive up the price as there is no way of checking the bidding history of bidders.

So how do you actually tell if a listing is private when you go to bid on it/BIN? I've never noticed a sign or anything, but I have seen the odd private thing show up in my feedbback, so I must have bid on them.

I think some buyers may get suspicious pre-sale when they check feedback of items sold and sellers listings show private.

In a listing itself at the very, very, very bottom of a listing in the left hand corner is a statement that says

This is a private listing and your identity will not be disclosed to anyone except the seller.

Take a look at http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2001-5-Centenary-of-Federation-Polymer-Australian-Notes-Semi-Solid-very-R... for an example of what cats has said (right down at the base of the listing)
