An ebay seller sent me a nasty message stating that I did not leave them 5 stars in my rating within their feedback? How do they know that I didn't? How can you check this? I gave them 4 stars for 1 option only, rest were 5 stars?

What is this place coming to?
No, but you said in your previous message that there was no way of checking who left what DSR unless it was 3 or under and gave a defect. I was showing people that there is a way and left the steps on how to do it if they wanted to find out.
Some of us are unable to download reports when we get defects, so for us, this is the only way to find out who gave us a defect.

Sellers are supposed to check their DSR ratings. If they have a few below 5, for example, for item not as described, then they are supposed to try and improve their descriptions etc. It lets them know what areas they need to pay attention to (if any).

I understand that, but I think the intention was probably that we check via our reports on defects, not go to great pains to drill down and find out what every buyer has left us.
If I'm wrong (and I'm more than happy to be corrected) and that is what Ebay expects us to do , then they can forget it. I am happy to work on any poor performance areas indicated by the number of defects I may have, but I am not interested in playing the blame game with my buyers. I have better things to do with my time than micro-manage buyer opinions.

There are quite a few of us who CAN'T check 'via our reports on defects', because if we try to download a report, we are told we have no defects in the current period. We even get congratulated on our efforts. I have been trying daily since my last defect to download a report and get the same message, hence some of us have to do it the other way.

We can do that ...check via our reports, apart from the sellers such as ilovemysheep posted who can't access the details that way for some unkown reason.
