These days when I start an Ebay auction, I can find no way to list various private courier shipping costs either beside the "Shipping" heading or within the "Shipping and payments" section.
The only options Ebay seem to offer are one fixed charge, or various Australia Post options. I don't want to list one fixed charge, nor use Australia Post. It seems to me that Ebay is trying to "force" you to go with Australia Post.
I use couriers for delivery. Obviously the shipping charge varies depending on where in Australia the buyer lives. But as far as I can tell, I am "forced" by Ebay to list a product's shipping costs either as one fixed price or an Australia Post price.
I can find no option to list as "courier" shipping, nor an option to list a price range for shipping (for example ..... "$30 to $90 depending on location").
So in my auctions I end up just listing one fixed price besides "shipping", then in the auction wording itself I tell people to totally ignore the listed shipping price .... then I list the various shipping prices to the various capital cities.
Why can't Ebay just give you the simple option to say beside the "Shipping" heading, "courier ..... read add for exact shipping prices"?
If you send via courier, what's your solution to this Ebay listing problem?

In short.... Rate tables. ๐
You can enter up to 15 different shipping costs, by region.
http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/pay/shipping-costs.html#tables
(NB: rate tables often result in postage showing as "free" in search results, but the correct amount will be displayed on the listing when a buyer clicks on it).
Just as an aside, there's also the "freight" option, which doesn't enter any shipping costs, leaving you able to quote individually (either when customers enquire, or after the buy and you send an invoice), and would be a better option that quoting non-aplicable postage if rate tables aren't suitable.

Please make sure you let buyers know that the item will be sent by courier. Put it in the listing so they are aware of the fact before they bid or buy.
There are a lot of buyers who find courier delivery very inconvenient and will not buy from sellers who use it.

There is only one courier who leaves items at the Post Office....StarTrack which is owned by Australia Post.
But they do not deliver to PO Boxes when that is the postal address. They can only leave an item at the PO when it cannot be delivered to the street address....the driver leaves a card the same as an AP contractor or postman.

No postage
Flat rate
Calculated postage
Freight."
-------------------------------------------------------------
Those options don't appear in "my" postage section. What appears is "Charge fixed cost", "Charge actual cost", "Free postage", "Local pickup", "Offer Another Postage Service" ..... with the last one there are lots of listings but none for "Freight".

My problem will be solved if I can find out how to firstly locate, and then impliment, the "Freight" option.
Then I'll just list "Shipping" as "Freight" (without having any price listed). Then in the Ebay add itself I'll list all the various shipping prices to all the various areas.

You should see it in the dropdown menu on the postage section (see screen shot - click on the the field where it says "Flat:...." and the dropdown menu will show all available options). This will mean editing listings, either individually or in bulk (via selling manager), or editing postage policies if you have business policies implemented.
The screen shot is from ebay's old listing form, I don't use the new one but the same option should be in the postage section of the new listing form when you create or edit one.

When I go into "revise my item" and then go down to the postage details there's no "Domestic Postage" heading. And all the various postage options I can click on don't show "Freight".
