Whenever I log on to eBay the first page that comes up is an advertising page from ebay; the address shows ebay.com.au
I tried looking into site preferences but I can't find any setting that stops the page.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Download Google Chrome and install Adblock Plus or Pro to it. No more ads.....ever!

Or if you use Firefox it's in the "add ons" already.................
Sheeps, Firefox has been behaving itself for me recently, apart from paying for wins - then I have to go to chrome.

The ad page I am getting when I log on is not a pop up, it is an official ebay advertising page and the address bar says ebay.com.au
I have attached a screenshot

I have saved myeBay page to my favourites and then dragged it onto my browser shortcuts bar. That way I just click on to favourite & even if I have to log in, land on myeBay bypassing the carp
I use: http://my.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay&gbh=1
I have also done the same thing with the link to the boards, as well as a very old link that still gives me active listings and selling tally at the top
*sob* I just cannot let go of how it used to be when eBay liked sellers, the link just shows active selling - but gives you the all important tally AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE !!! (thank you to the poster who provided this shortcut years ago on the boards).

my pleasure ~ happy that some other sellers appreciate that particular format as well

It is much easier bookmarking the sites you use most and then pin them to your address bar,(I also come in through My Ebay tab so that I don't get the carp that's on the front page).
I prefer mine at the side so I can see both at the same time,

Thanks all for your suggestions but I discovered my problem stems from me having 2 ebay sites and I have to log out from one before I log on to another. Any quick links that I have created don't work any more and they take me to the advertising page first.

Use 2 browsers then you can have both sites open at the same time. That way you don't have to keep logging in and logging out all the time.
