I've had quite a few buyers in the past ask if I will end an auction early. I don't know if that's against policy or not, but no, I won't end an auction early. I assume that if I did, they'd be wanting to conduct the transaction off eBay and I am NOT prepared to do that, because I know that IS a violation. One buyer, who had already bought a few things asked once, so I said I'd add a buy it now price for them. I think my starting price was $9.99 and I put a BIN price of $24.99. They bought it! It certainly wasn't worth anywhere near that, but they said they were going away for a few weeks camping (with no net access) and they wanted to get their transactions over and done with before they left. They really wanted this particular item. All good. I sold my item for twice what it was worth. Ebay got their fees and the buyer got their items.
I've listed a few auctions with a BIN price, literally a few, but I've never listed any with a Best Offer. My things aren't worth enough to offer that I don't think.

you got some very perty items chooks,i like the idea of having those fossil things to make me feel younger. Can't buy that kinda stuff at Kmart.
About a yr ago, before i had 1 woman msging about a pair of Nudie jeans i had listed.I was away so my son gave her my mobile number Arghhh silly boy.Well this woman gave me some very long bs story about her daughters birthday&she needed them now & would send them back free if they didn't fit etc.She wasted 45min of my time going on about how ridiculously expensive jeans were these days, trying to convince me that we had a deal for $20.That's all she wanted to pay including post.
I politely but impatiently listened, silently cursing my son & said no thanks cos i don't do Buy It Now.
I checked her fb to find that she is a jeans seller & regularly sells Nudie for v expensive prices & she often gets sellers to accept offers & all there fback said how lovely she was.LOL yeah she lovely while giving the b.s story for a bargain.Sneaky ol cow.
I hate people trying to haggle me like I'm at some Turkish street market.

I've just had an experience with a 'buyer' (who has good feedback also) purchase an item, then 20 minutes prior to the end of the 4 days of non payment (when the non payment case was about to auto open) he sends through a request to make a change and started trying to bargain the price down ... by $400... with a massive sob story. Didn't pay, I blocked him from further bids and since re-listing, he messaged me at least 10 times with reasons why I should take his offer. Grrrrrrr If you don't want to pay the listed price, don't click through the Ebay process which clearly states that you are committing to buy!
Vent over. Thanks

there is no best offer option on AUCTIONS. that is only for fixed price listings.
if as a Seller you dont like rejecting offers, you can set up your best offer with a lowest you are prepared to accept and ebay automatically rejects any offer below that price. easy way

All of my items are BINS without best offer function. I still get a large number of offers. Occasionally if things are slow and the offers reasonable I will accept. Most of the time I send the following message. " Thankyou for your offer, all prices firm. Kind Regards ....... This seems to be accepted with many buyers going on to purchase the item for full price.

I like that response very much - short, polite and to the point

The only way they could do that is if you made a typo and counter-offered $15 instead of $25.
If they have checked out at $15, you are probably stuck with it. Unless the eCheque bounces.
