This may be written somewhere else on the forum but I am having trouble finding an answer...
Are we talking 100 - 125 - 150 listings?? I just have to figure out if having a store is going to be worth it after September 15th. That said, if it isn't, I don't know where else to go that has the exposure Ebay does.
So angry I can't talk right now. X-(

don't know nuzzink about that, cosmo, but if you think that your sellin' salvation lies in that other joint, you're in for a flamin' big disappointment.

Depends a lot on your profit margain
As an example on my other account, the Store would be $49.95 (say $50). If I buy books at $1 each and sell them for $3.50, I would need to sell, I would need to sell about 25 to break even I reckon taking into account sale fees and the cost of the items
I was just doing it as a small side hobby, but the store fee eats up too much profit to be able to do it now

It would depend on a number of factors
* Price of items you sell
* Profit margin on items sold
* Number of items on top in Best match search results
* Quantity of items for sale in each Buy now listing
I would say you would need at least 100 - 150 listings, depending on the above factors to make a store profitable with the new fee structure.

I wrote something smilar on another thread.
But here is my take.
300 listings = $60 listing fees per month
Add $50 as the store fee
equals
$110 basic fees
then add your FVF
then add your PayPal fees
then add your wholesale costs
Question - Do you still have a profit margin?

I am really disappointed in this rise. There are so many of us that sell about 1000 a month and still pay fees of 100.00 a month and then we pay the store fee of 130.00 that is ebay takes off us at least 13% of our profits. Then we need to pay tax on any profits and take of the cost price. Its becoming a bit of a joke. No wonder soooo many on facebook groups saying ebay is dead to the seller. what a shame they have taken those living in china and hong kong ahead of us and let them push all the aussies our of the market. Exactly what is happening in real life in Australia. I actually love selling on ebay and have for a long time but will now have to reconsider like every other seller I will probably just cancel my store altogether as there will be absoluately no incentive now to keep one. I think they are squeezing out the little sellers that is now obvious and they want the bucks from the big boy players like myers, telstra and other brand companies - I am one very disappointed seller !

If your current, average monthly profit will absorb the $25 increase, then you don't necessarily have to increase listings or profit.
If you want to cover the increase rather than absorb it, it will have to be done either by increasing listings for that additional $25 profit, or adding it to current prices (eg if you sell around 100 items a month, your sale prices would need to increase around 25c-30c).

I am shattered by this price hike too.I set up my store as a bit of a hobby and then it became neccessary to help with finances when my husband passed away suddenly.Seriously thinking of closing the store and rotating stock on the 30 day free listing option.
eBay were very sneaky with their price changes in March. They knew it would attract more small operators to open a store. Now the stores are open and attracting sales they hike the price up to gobble up the profits.Yes we could change all our prices to cover the increase but are we going to be able to compete with the overseas influence.I think not.I dont work for eBay I work for myself.Going to be doing some serious homework between this invoice and the next.
