Hi,
I'm a casual seller, but this week I created an item listing (for sale). The listing was of the Buy Now type, and the postage was fixed. In addition, the item is heavy. Since I had 4 of this item, I set the quantity to 4. Today a buyer comes along and buys all 4 items in a single transaction (great), but the postage paid was only for the fixed postage to post a single item. I had mistakenly assumed that a buyer would be charged x4 for the postage for buying 4 of the items. Looking back at creating a new listing, in the future how can I set a fixed postage price PER item (not a fixed postage for 1, 10, or even 100 items)? I don't see this option available. In the future should I just create different listings? This seems to be a flaw/oversight in the ebay system.
My new listing/selling screen looks as follows: https://i.imgur.com/ilhwVZp.jpg

That looks like the quick listing tool, and doesn't seem to be providing the same postage options as the advanced listing form.
If you see a link to switch to the advanced listing tool, do that then scroll down to the postage section, as there will be an option to enter the basic P&H cost, and then a per additional item cost, so if you want the P&H to be $10 per item, for example, you enter $10.00, then $10.00 in the per additional item field (the per additional item field will only appear if there is more than 1 entered into the quantity field first).

Hummm... When I sign in via the com.au version of the ebay site, I don't see any advanced listing link. However, if I sign in via the .com version of the ebay site, I see this link. After click it, ebay recommends not to use it. Thanks for sheding a little light on this for me.

Don't take any notice of the warning. Everyone gets that warning when they try to change, even high volume sellers. When you create or edit a listing, the link should be up the very top right. It's definitely worth changing to the advanced, there are a lot more options, meaning you can have a more thorough listing.
