Hi Guys
I have been watching a friend of mine doing his small business on ebay, yesterday I just opened my own account.
It says if I want to open a store, I must have an "active seller account" by setting up an "automatic payment method".
But no matter which method I chose, it always asks me to input credit card details.
I don't have a credit card... and not really interested in getting one.
I do have a paypal account, and also a bank account, if I link them together, do I still need any credit card on ebay?
Please let me know, thx.

I used my debit card, which isn't a credit card as it's my money, and this was acceptable:-)

Thanks for your reply, but all I have is a commonwealth keycard that allows me to withdraw cash from ATM.
There is no CCV on its back, nor "Visa" or "Master" logo.

Sorry I meant CSV code.

I think the rules for newer sellers may have changed and you will need either a Visa or Mastercard, which is easy enough to get, and it also allows you to keep your ebay transactions in a separate account. Makes for easy bookkeeping:-)

i dont know about the cards, but opening a Store means you pay $50 a month rental and no free listings,
just listing as a new seller you do get 30 listings with free listings fees
a good way to go until you build up your ebay seller account and get enough feed back / experience
new sellers have limits anyhow so best to use the free listings until you cn ask for the limits to be increased.

Just ask the bank that you have your eft card with to upgrade it to a debit card, should be no problem

Appreciated.

You definitely need a credit/debit card to open a store. You could get a prepaid one even. As long as it's a Masercard or Visa.
You don't have to pay fees through it, you just have to have one registered.
