How to organise Shipping and Packing?

Hi, so I want to open an ebay business,
Could you please explain how to organize shipping so I dont have to go to post office every time someone orders $2 toy?
Maybe local post-offices have a stock and will send as soon as I recieve the payment? Something like that?
Thank you

..meanwhile, I'm just sitting here wondering if the OP's "$2 toy" was an arbitrary amount coupled with a general word with the same or similar meaning as "widget", to indicate something along the lines of "every little thing". Smiley LOL

I had 100% the same thought which is why in my OP I put

If it is a $2 toy (doubt you could make any profit on that) you would not be sending it with tracking which coasts $2.95 so you just pack, label and stick it in a PO box there is no need at all to go to the Post Office. If the items are more expensive and require tracking you can either:

Anyway how dare you mention the OP this thread has been off topic for a page 😉

OK, so you still think I am wrong so can you please explain Sendle to me.

Obviously anyone who is posting here has internet access...that goes without saying.  But it is one thing to make a booking to send a parcel with Sendle but how can the seller get the actual parcel to Sendle?

As an example, Tippy is in a rural area but has internet access.   How does she get her parcels to Sendle when they do not have a depot in her town.

This also applies to Termando and most other courier brokers/agents.

Most rural areas are very limited in the couriers who will service the area.   Apart from the fact that there are many areas where there is just one courier in the town, many of the large companies will not deliver to out of the way areas.

Please do not keep saying I have no idea what I am talking about.....three members of my family have had over 30 years each in the courier industry....probably almost as long a you have been alive.

Sendle does not have depos anywhere why do you insist on telling people what they should be doing and how they should run their business when you have no idea. Why don't you part you misinformation in the buyers forum, where you should be (and yes I know you do rant there as well) You may have 3 members of your family who worked in the courier industry but you do not have a clue how they work but you keep telling people what they should and should not be doing. I think everyone gets it YOU dislike courtiers poor you had to wait an extra day for a parcel and they delivered it something your beloved AusPost want do. I said in my first post mentioning couriers will wake up the grumpy 4 well 3 are here so far I am sure the other 2 will follow soon.

You do not like couriers so what people are trying to build businesses here you need to stop getting in their way and allow sellers to share information just because a courier upset you does NOT make them bad I 100% understand why they was rude to you on the phone.

After that little rant I am still none the wiser how Sendle works.

I have said I am prepared to be enlightened by you but all you can do is rant and rave about things that have no bearing on this thread and are old news,

If Sendle don't have depots, how do you get your parcels to them?  Using Tippy as an example, explain to us how she can use a courier service through Sendle....please, it is a genuine question and I am sure there are a lot of sellers who would like to know.

Why does a buyer need to know? you was quick to jump on my first post and tell me how a seller can not get courier service unless they are selling high volumes which is totally wrong. Here is a radical idea why not leave it to the people who actually use there services to give advice rather than you just posting what you think to be true. This is a forum for sellers we need accurate information not something from a buyer who likes to make things up.

you do not know how sendle works because you do not need to know because your a buyer. Yes I am sure a lot of sellers would like to know the different options to post items and it would be a lot easier to find that info if you did not keepjumping on every thread and just posting what you want.

Adnd before you say I still did not explain how sendle works to you I know because your a buyer lol

Given BUYERS are the ones who actually pay for the postage (unless you're selling at a loss) I contend that a buyer's perspective is very relevant.

Using  myself as an example, as I am a seller (who sells bucket loads more than you), how do I send the kiwi footwear? You refuse to answer a buyer , then answer a seller.

Or, is it as we expect, you have no idea, but get off on the sound of your own voice, by ranting on without offering any constructive advice?

ok so you send over 400 parcels a month but you do not know what is available maybe rather than spending 12 hours a day on this forum you might want to spend a little times looking at your options you be surprised how much you can save while providing a much better service.

Constructive advice is 100% what I did offer in my first post as to options where a seller would not have to go to the post office (which was the question in case you missed that)

So let me break it down for you the simple answer on how to not have to queue at the PO is to couriers

Lyndal - Sendle is just another courier broker and like most of them it can work for parcels going to and from capital cities or the larger towns up and down the east coast.

In WA sendle is only available for pick ups if you are in Perth metro area but they don't offer a service for country areas of WA. Same applies in other parts of Australia.

Someone like Tippy would not be able to use this service due to their location.

Couriers can be a good option for sellers and buyers but they don't suit everyone or every situation. We use a combination of AP and TOLLDX (with ATL on all TOLLDX Parcels so the customer isn't inconvenienced by having to go to a depot to collect). We are selective where we send the TollDX parcels as remote areas, blocks of units etc are better serviced by AP and we want to make it as easy and as safe as possible for our customers.

If a customer specifically asks for AP then we always send AP.

Sheesh - I can lose it with the best of them, (as many of you know) but would I be stoopid enough to be rude to a member who has not only had a wealth of experience on eBay, but also knows the courier business inside out such as Lyndal ?

Nope, not me

Why is it those that have been at it 5 minutes always know so much more than those members who do actually come here to help.

Not to mention ..... way off topic now, wasn't the OP looking for someone to do all the work for them?

edited to say - not aimed at you Jen Smiley Happy
