Hi everyone. Please help... but need baby step instructions :-x
I've been going around the Help Pages in circles. It tells me to open a seller's account... I have already done that ages ago and connected Paypal for seller fee payments. Then it says to "place a credit card on file" before I open a basic store. No links on where to do that or how. I try to click on the relevant links to open a store, error message in red tells me I can't until I place a credit card on file.
Pray, tell me, how ?:|
Thanks in advance.

Have you placed credit card details in your paypal account?

Yep 🙂
Paypal gets funded from credit card when Paypal funds finish... ages ago and checked even today.

THANK YOU!!!
Disappointed to see it's for the buyer protection thingy. It's the method they will be using to reimburse buyers from...
Not hoping to ever need one of these but don't you get a choice of payment?

I loathe credit cards .... just open a visa debit account - and link that - it is suffice for paypal purposes - it runs with your own dosh - no credit involved.

That was the plan, pj. Only I just realised I can't have just Paypal on file for all payments 😞
I've done this before just couldn't remember the nitty gritties of it!
Anyway, wish me luck :-x

Ok, this is ridiculous...
I've done all of the above, no other requirements I can see necessary but...
The requirements to open a store have not been met.
Please register for an eBay seller account with a credit card on file

I think that the OP is talking about the international selling agreement / ebay buyer protection policy????
and the requirement to put a credit card on file for reimbursement... apparently a debit card is not good enough
Op are you talking about Paypal buyer protection or ebay buyer protection regarding the requirement for a credit card ???

I just got off the phone with eBay Support.
When you open a new store, the system keeps asking for a credit card to be placed on file but does not tell you where to do it.
eBay Support told me to go to the Site Map > Sell > Selling > Place or Update Credit Card on File
I would have thought if it was such a hidden little thing they should have some link on the Store Subscription thingy page to do it on.
And no, the system can't distinguish between a credit and debit card. So long as it has a VISA or MASTERCARD logo on it, they shouldn't and don't care... they are safe enough with their money and leave us wondering what exactly it is that we've signed off :_|
