How to require a phone number from buyers?

I want to be able to require buyers to provide a phone number. I've gone into revise an item however I cannot see anywhere that I can set this. Can someone point me in the right direction? Or is it something that is set in paypal and not ebay?

You can't.

I have the setting, too. Maybe we aren't speshul enough.

None of the advice in this thread will help, either. This thread was started and ended long before the buyer's phone number policy came into effect.

This is a perfect example of why posting on old threads (if the thread is, let's say, more than a year old) is not recommended.

It's not because there is a secret committee here of grimly chuckling snuff-taking fuddy-duddies, manically clutching dormant threads to their madeira-soaked chests, dedicated to keeping those old threads untouched, unused, unposted-in.

It's for these two main reasons:

1. In many instances, the information in the thread is no longer relevant or correct. eBay policies change; what was true or valid may no longer be true or valid.
2. The thread may have been specific to one particular enquiry; the enquiry may have involved quite a discussion. Posting in the thread years later revives a long-done-with discussion - to no purpose. It is best for people to start a new thread with their specific enquiry, so that responders do not find themselves having to scroll through a tortuous discussion that has nothing to do with the new enquiry.

To start a new thread, k-mac-suspension, click onto New Message at the top of the thread links in this board. (It really should be renamed to something like "Start a new thread", I think!)

On your 'orders' page (seller hub view), click 'view sales record'.

If it's not showing anywhere else, it will show there, even if you don't have the setting to require phone numbers enabled. You can also edit your invoice / packing slip options to include the phone number on the print-out.

Sure and then when they send you items your parcel doesn't get tracked and if it is lost or some issue then you don't get contacted.

Hmm... let's see... I've just now saved that as a macro. (The trouble with macros on these boards is that one can't save all of the formatting.)

(And one cannot - in my experience - save images to a macro... which is such a pity.)
