How to ship long (58cm) items in the mail in Australia (large boxes aren't available??)

Ok, so I'm in Australia and I'm selling some items that are quite long (58cm or so). Australia Post and Officeworks do not sell any box that long, the longest boxes they sell are about 48-50cm. Any idea where you can buy larger boxes from? I'm selling Lego by the way, so it's important that it goes in a box to prevent crush damage.

You can get boxes from any packaging company... and some of them even have accounts here on eBay

I regularly ship 60cm and 80cm long boxes. The prices start around $2 ea, but get cheaper with bulk quantities. Pretty sure I paid somewhere around 40c ea for my last order.

Lezned, do you have any links to these companies? I've Google searched packing supplies but can't find any. One company had suitable boxes but had a minimum order of 25 units per box.

There are many to choose from, but eBPak is the first that comes to mind. They have multiple IDs here on eBay, and they sell quantities of 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000. Prices range between around $0.40 and $2.50 per box - obviously the greater the quantity, the cheaper the unit price.

Does it have to be a box?    If not, I got some corrugated cardboard from my local packing shop, they sell it by the metre and its 1.2 metres wide, and really cheap, I think I paid 10 for 5 metres.    And then you could roll your item into it?

Depending on  your items of course.

When I started many years ago I had 200 boxes custom made to ship Lego as the size is critical due to shipping costs.

If your lucky see if you any box manufacturers local as they usually have odd boxes discounted. Also there are suppliers of surplus boxes around.

You can try storage centres as they sell boxes but sizes can be limited.

If all else fails your local home centres will have bins full of boxes outback which you can also get large sheets that you can cut and make your own.
