I actually said what we all wish we could say to certain idiot buyers!

So last week I sold a pair of tops. From the beginning this buyer was a pain in the rear. Around 7pm they asked for measurements (after purchase) and wanted it sent registered. At 8pm, when I hadn't replied within that hour, after hours, they sent another message asking me to reply. Apparently I should be available and by my computer at all hours of the night. (of course, they took 3 days to pay...)

Then yesterday she messages to me tell me there are 3 different issues with the tops. Now I will be the first to admit that I do miss things occasionally, I sell second hand and sometimes an item gets past me in the sorting process. But 3 different issues, issues with both the tops she recieved, and I missed all of them? I'm skeptical.

Nonetheless, I ask for pics, and if they show the damage I would have refunded without return, no problem. But she sends a snarky message saying nevermind, because she read the refund policy and doesn't want to pay return postage (I suspect she was looking at a paypal refund, not an ebay refund). I would have corrected her and advised her that I wouldn't have needed the items returned, but then she sent another message just being plain rude about how this is totally unacceptable and I need to never screw up, basically. I decided at that point that, even if I did refund her, I'm probably still going to get a negative, and she's not providing any pics, so I'm just going to ignore her because I don't need to deal with rude people, and I'll cop the neg and defect. I still don't think she's telling the truth about the damage in the first place.

But, then, this morning, when she sends a message saying "Before I do feedback ebay suggests I contact seller, Any ideas on what you think I should write?"

Well maybe I'm PMSing but that is just plain obnoxious! I've had it with this buyer, I'm going to get negged no matter what I do at this point so why not just tell her what I think of her. I thought you guys might get a laugh out of someone telling a buyer what many of us wish we could.

-----------------------------

I'm not sure what you want me to do. You have said you don't want to send the items back, and have not provided any photos of the items (which can be attached to ebay messages via the 'attach photos' button,). I'm guessing what you're trying to get from me is a refund without return, but I'm not going to do that without at least seeing pictures of the damage you are claiming, as, from the images I have here, there's no evidence of any of what you're saying. Some buyers will buy items, then claim there is a non-existent problem in order to get a refund, which is why you need to prove your claims.

Usually I am quite happy to help customers when there is an issue, but from the beginning of this transaction you have been rude and snarky. When I didn't reply to your message within an hour, after business hours I'll add, you were badgering. You have been snarky about this situation, your message yesterday re-emphasizing how the situation wasn't acceptable topped it off (I am aware it is unacceptable, and apologised for it, and was attempting to fix it). Then today you send this message, which I can only read as sarcastic and rude again... to be quite frank I have no inclination to help you. This isn't like a retail store where you can go and abuse the cashier and they will bend over backwards to help you because store policy says so. If you had been polite, had a little understanding, and assisted the process by providing the necessary proof of an issue I would have been more than happy to refund without you even returning the items, as I have in past incidents where I missed damage on an item. But, at this point, I've accepted I'm probably going to get a negative and defect from you no matter what, and I have little interest in helping you after your attitude towards me.

So. write what you like on the feedback, it doesn't bother me at this point. I have better things to do than worry about than bullies.

------------------------------

Come on negative! Whatever, I'm about due for one, I haven't had a defect in 3 months now! I was on a roll, but it had to come to an end at some point, and at least here, I didn't have to just take it.

Ok, I'm amused, but slightly disappointed because I won't be able to name her in my feedback. Here's a copy of the message I just recieved.

"After thinking about it I am not going to bother as it is not worth it and for the record I don't like leaving negatives so I will not leave any feedback at all .. Aren't u lucky as it is obvious to me after reading ur message u have had a lot of problems .. I will chalk this up to a bad experience , and before u insult people u should read their feed back"

Funny, because her feedback for others history shows at least two negs and a neut in the past, so she can't dislike it THAT much. (one of the negs responded that the buyer lost a paypal case)

I think I somehow just got out of that without a defect... wow lol.

You could always take a chance and post it in this thread.   It is highly unlikely that anyone would report it under the circumstances and what is the worst that can happen if the Mods do happen to stumble on it and remove it?

Odd buyer, likes a bit of drama.

But, then, this morning, when she sends a message saying "Before I do feedback ebay suggests I contact seller, Any ideas on what you think I should write?"

Odd question.. a threat, a sarcastic comment? Genuinely wants to know???

I think I would have suggested something that was sure to be removed by ebay, such as mentioning a dispute.Smiley Wink

Here is an interesting way to name people without naming people.

Not that I would encourage anyone doing it.

Read the following sentence, the only problem is that the text is coloured white.

You have to highlight the sentence with your mouse

And there you have it.

Yes, that could work. We need a code word to add to a message so others know to highlight a certain area of the message.

White Text is very dangerous. Here are a couple of instances:

1 - Google search engines can read it and will downgrade you in the search results - I bet EBay's robots can also read white text.

2 - A number of years ago I took over a collegues work. This used an Excel spreadsheet. In Excel the flow should run from top to bottom, left to right in some sort of logical order. However, this "drongo" wanted to protect his job so no-one else could do it. His work flowed without logic, was full of white text, and was a total mess.

But I had learnt from an expert. Highlighted everything and set text to black. The "drongo" was sacked soon after his efforts became known by the boss.

So don't use white text

Something is written above

Best wishes

I think we all feel the frustration, I have my own way of trying to minimise the damage caused by these guys, white text is not among them. One day i'll start a thread and share some pointers. In order to beat these guys who abuse the rules a level playing field is needed.
