I only started again with Ebay just recently. Ebay offered the first 20 listings for free. Strangely enough I was charged over 18 dollars for it dispite of the free offer. I did not use any unusual features or options and my items were all cheap, which means the final value fee could not add up to much either.. Has anything like that happened to you before. Now I have just sold for a little over $200 but they want already $28 charges out of that. I don't know what to do.

You really should have started your own thread for your gripe question.
This thread is OLD.
Your account statement will detail the fees that resulted in a $43.98 total.
OR, try this . . . Click on the Account summary link under the Account tab that is beside the messages tab. When that link opens up you click on All account activity and you should see a breakdown of fees charged.
If that doesn't work, start a new thread with your question and you will get help from many members. Opening an old thread to ask a question is not recommended.

$43.98 why when i phoned ebay australia they are closed for the week end please what do i do
cheers james
James you have sold an accordion in September for $500.00. The FVF on that would have been around $40.00 plus there were other items you sold.
Looking at the items sold it doesn't appear that you have been overcharged.

By the way your titles sound like good sales lines , but the first step is to appear in search returns, so you need more search key words such as item colour, size, long sleeve, top, cardigan, sweater, shirt etc..ie words that people will put in searches. No one puts it stunning, fabulous or other descriptive words. They are wasted in titles. pack your title with as many relevent words, even if you are stretching the relevence. Your items needs to be found first and foremost before you have any chance of selling.
For example if you are selling a blouse, you use blouse, shirt and top, as all 3 will get you picked up in 3 individual searches. stunning blouse will get you picked up in 1 search, the word stunning will get you picked up in none.
(lane-ends post #4).
.
Doing a search of stunning brings up 53,320 listings so check your facts before you post!!!!!!!!!!:^O:^O:^O:^O:^O:^O
