With the amount of buyers that will be put on to blocked bidder lists because of non payment, etc,I presume the
blocked bidder list will be never ending?
Also you can't do a cancelled transaction as it will count as a defect.,(so you'll have to do an unpaid item dispute).
Then you'll have the buyers that leave less then 5 stars to add to the list.
So that list might become preeeetty long for some sellers,

The maximum number of IDs on a BBL is 5000.
I tried to make the same point to eBay re: effects of their new policies and defect rate. Sellers aren't going to bend over backwards (most of them can't bend over any further than they already have ) to try and pander to eBay requirements and the expectations they reckon buyers have. When all that is issued is 'punishments', rather than genuine incentives, sellers will take preventative measures to protect themselves more than any other suggested action.
The postage time DSR for example - eBay seem to have accepted and condoned buyers rate that on delivery time rather than the time it took a seller to post, and they've also given sellers the opportunity to block buyers in regional and remote locations of Australia, then they suggested that sellers can take action to address issues like if items take to long to arrive in certain geographic locations.
What's the most attractive option? Only post express to some locations to try and avoid a defect vs block anyone living somewhere that the mail takes more than 5 days on average to arrive and not even take the chance?

I'm sure you can do cancellations without a defect if the buyer asks for it. You will have to be very careful about what reason you choose though.
Yes my BBL is long enough already.

They can Harley, but the instructions on how to acheive this that we were given yesterday, require the precision of a marching band and a Doctorate to even follow.
Hoping like crazy they simplify that process or there is gonna be bloodshed!

It doesn't, IF you follow the correct process to have that recorded. and it's this freakin convoluted process where you have to tell the buyer when they have to respond, when you can refund (if applicable) and when aND how it can all be closed.
And if your buyer doesn't play the game, then the defect sticks to the seller. (according to the information given yesterday)

If you like, I will ask permission of the other member to post thweir response from eBay (plus I'll have to run it by the mods too as we are not supposed to post private emails etc) if you like.
It's that freakin convoluted, I'm not even game to transopose it into my words LOL, so a copy paste would be the best

My BBL has grown so much in the last three months 😞 If I run a .99c auction and notice a bid from someone who has left a lot of bad feedback I put them on my list immediately and hope to god someone outbids them.
If someone asks a stupid question that is covered in the listing, and they have a record of leaving bad feedback, they go on my list.
And so on. Now I will also have to block buyers who leave 3 star ratings.
Ebay just keeps making things harder, yet sales are a fraction of what they used to be regardless of how much you bend over backwards to accomodate their rules.
They NEED to educate buyers on how the star rating and feedback affects sellers. Plus they should stop buyers from being able to leave a negative or neutral without contacting the seller. I Have had newbie buyers use a negative or neutral instead of an email to ask me what is happening - only a few days after payment, so not even when the parcel is late. When I contact them they are apologetic, but they 'had no idea'. It uses up revision requests for no legitimate reason.
And the 'seller protection' policy, where they claim they will remove the buyers feedback if they have a pattern of leaving bad FB is BS - I had a buyer leave a negative with no contact. When I checked, they had left negatives for 100% of their purchases. Despite phone calls and emails to ebay and several emails to the buyer (none of which were acknowledged), they would not remove it.
