I seem to have a lot of buyers not leaving feedback these days.
This is very disappointing.
I used to follow up with an email asking them to but still did not get a lot.
Why do you think this is?

Since I added it to each listing I do get more feedback than before I had it in the description. But some people just don't leave feedback at all. I have check the few that I have now that haven't left feedback and they don't leave feedback for no one!!! Or not for over 6 months - 2 years ago even.
I will say my feedback increased roughly 30% in replies with the little message added. Some people can take 30 days or more sometimes to leave feedback too. That has happened to me as well, but i know Ebay automatically reminds people as well after a certain amount of time (which I can't remember).
Good Luck!

I would be cautious of requesting feedback from buyers.
Just like black*poppy, as a buyer, I find it annoying if I am harassed for feedback. I would be worried about buyers docking me DSR stars for Communication if I bug them to leave feedback.
It should also be kept in mind that under the Defect System "no news is good news". Your % of defects is based on the number of sales, not the number of feedback received. Ideally, you don't want your buyers to leave any feedback at all because there is then no opportunity for them to leave you low DSRs!

You have an extremely good point here especially with this new defects policy! I think I will take your advice and start removing my little message from my listings.

EBay could probably remove positive feedback for sellers altogether. Does anyone read the positives now you can refine just to the negs on site without third party tools? Negs weighed against items sold would catch all buyers rather than just those who are thrilled to leave feedback and would better reflect a normal retail experience.

Good Point! But I do read the positive feedback of sellers that I buy from just to see what kind of positive experiences buyers have had, also the positive feedback my buyers leave on mine. But then again I always to look for the good before the bad. Sometimes I notice in positive feedback of sellers that I buy from, some buyers have written things like "very happy thank you but could improve communication" etc etc.
