Ok, so it's a rant I have regularly, but now I've really had it with Click and Send!
Tried to use the service this afternoon, but every ebay purchase I tried to process kept giving me the error message of : "Postcode is not a valid value."
Every postcode I tried to use was indeed the correct one, but I just kept getting the same error message.
Then I tried using a different browser, as Click and Send has been known not to work on certain browsers. So I changed from Chrome to Firefox.
I'm not even getting in on Firefox, now just getting:
"This service is currently unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Please try again later. If you continue to receive this message, please contact us."
Hmmmnnn. You don't really want me to contact you Click and send, because I'm just a wee bit irritated. Just a wee bit . . . .
And I already had to go into the post office today to process some parcels that didn't fit into standard 500g satchels (because anything weighing under 500g MUST be smaller than 335mm x 220mm right? Not to mention their 3kg satchels that always seem just that little bit smaller than the parcel I have to send. Arrghh!
Sorry for the rant everyone, but I'm just trying to send these parcels off ASAP because I like buyers to get their stuff as soon as possible after payment. And Australia Post seems to love making things difficult!!! Ok, now there's perhaps some paranoia . . . .
Anyone have any advice or similar experiences with this?
Thanks!
Boo

I had no problems with using Click and Send just now.
But I have about had it with customers who don't know where they live.
I've noticed that if there is a problem with the address the State always shows up as ACT, no matter where it is to.
A few wrong postcodes, but around 50% of all transactions have the city as well as the suburb in their address - which of course wont accept.
Drives me nuts!

Usually when the message about postcode being not valid comes up, they have put the nearest city into their address ( eg Fred Blogs, 123 abc street, smithtown SYDNEY NSW 2456)
You have to remove the Sydney part, and put in the correct town.
Sometime the spelling is incorrect, or they have put down the wrong postcode themselves.... I use a postcode search site to then check if these details are correct.
I always manage to get the label to go through somehow! .

Thanks guys, very helpful. Have managed to get two parcels far as 'process later' so I can do a few more, although the site is still not working on Firefox.
It just seems like there are so many things you have to get absolutely perfectly - maybe it's just me but I don't find it as user friendly as I think it should be.
Incidentally, I asked the Australia Post lady today if she knew how Click and send worked and she said no. But it was interesting that she did say that she's a friend of Aus Post on Facebook and the number of complaints about Click and send are phenomenal. . . . so perhaps it's not just me!

Yep, always check the State as it defaults to ACT when you make a correction.

Phone them: there's a number on the satchels, their help staff are in Australia and helpful and patient.
I find if you phone when you get into strife, it's a lot quicker than tearing hair out.

I just walk into the post office, pick up a satchel as I need it, whack in the item and address it. Piece of the proverbial. ๐

Obviously you don't use C&S, pay-back, as they require online payment. For $1.50 cheaper.
Crea, if you have issues start a new thread. It's considered poor form to drag up old ones. If the old one doesn't address your issue, it's also pointless. There are plenty of more recent threads on how you can determine the correct address of your buyer.

I prefer my Local Post Office to get the commision. They know me, I know them, they do me favours. eBay is not a business to me. I lose on the shipping on pretty much every item I sell through subsidies. I have traded with military collectors from all over the world. That is where I benefit.
Krea.. Go nuts I say, you have just as much right on this discussion panely as anybody else. I hope you got the support you sought. ๐
