INP Case open 4 weeks after item sold

Hi,

I am new to selling, and don't know what to do next in this case.

A customer bought a jacket, and kept telling to wait for him as he will definitely pay. I extended and extended (silly me), until 3 days ago I told him that if item not paid by 20/2/13 I have to open a case as this is the only way I get my FVF back. He did not respond so today, after exactly 4 weeks, I opened a case, INP.

I heard that after opening a case, I should close it after 4 days, else if it passes 37 days since the item is sold, I can't claim FVF. Is it correct? Since the FVF is $36USD, I don't want to lose it. I don't make a lot of money to lose that ๐Ÿ˜ž

Can any expert confirm that after 37 days from the day item is sold, FVF is not claimable. So won't extend it too long next time.

Thanks

Hi,

You have opened the case and in exactly 4 days time you close the case, siting 'buyer not paid' and you will receive your FVF and the buyer will receive a well deserved strike.

Another time don't let a buyer string you along so long, unless they ask for a specific day no more than 10 days ahead as soon as the item finishes I open disputes on the 5th day at the latest and the day after an agreed date if the payment does not arrive as promissed.

Absolutely definitely close once the full 4 days are up; why would you give them any more time?  If they did not pay in 4 weeks, and do not bother to pay within 4 days after case was open, they are not very likely to pay.  Once you close the case, get your FVF fee back, you can re-list.  BUT make sure you add this person to your BBL, or they may bid again or bid on something else you are selling.

If you don't receive payment, you can open an unpaid item case in the Resolution Centre as early as 4 days or up until 32 days after the listing ended.

If the buyer doesn't pay, you need to manually close the case in the Resolution Centre within 36 days after the listing ended. If you haven't closed the case on the 37th day after the listing ended, eBay automatically closes it and you don't receive afinal value fee credit. Also, an unpaid item won't be recorded on the buyer's account.

So if you opened a case, you are obviously within 32 days and can close it within 36 days.

Make sure you don't miss the 36th day.
