I've always had things slow down a lot after the first 10 days in January on all selling ids, this year is so far worse for the week just ended than last year but then I don't have as many things listed in my store. For December and the first 10 days of Jan I did better than last year.

Always dead from 15th January onwards for six weeks or so.
Been that way for me for the last 15 years.
Break from eBay selling tomorrow for 4-6 weeks, really need it...
20th December to about 15th January, always busy and worth selling on eBay, after that, forget it.
Christmas bills, back to school bills, holiday bills, warm weather, all means that the buyers disappear.
This is also a time I sometimes BUY on eBay, rather than SELL.

For some reason I have had a fantastic start to the month, 74 sales so far. I don't think i even sold 74 items for the month of December. I sell kids' toys too, so quite unexpected, but welcomed.

Frank, I am not sure where you are from but from what I am experiencing here in Australia it has been a bumper month. Ok I am relatively new to this game but my sales in December was reasonable but January has been very good. I think it may be because people are still away from work or they still have the holiday season mode and have time now to buy/browse for things they have been holding back on prior to Christmas.
Now I sell Remote Control Hobby parts so that may also be a reason why I have a bumper January as oppose to other seller that may sell items needed for daily work, who knows.
