I have a few spare toilet rolls, not because I hoard them, but because I am always ahead with things and stock up when there are specials. Would my sales increase if I offered a free toilet roll with every sale? Maybe not, as they are now stocking up on mince.

Well as for me I can't get enough of the jokes. The offer of a toilet roll with every sale was something I suggested just as a joke as it was jokingly suggested by a family member. I just thought I would get some amusing responses on this forum. Surely no-one took me as being serious. I do intend to keep my few extra rolls of toilet paper for my familty.
I have always thought that the world if full of idiots, being that most of them blindly follow the herd and don't have the ability to think for themselves. Recent events have only proven to me that I was right.

I honestly don't think you'll see an increase in sales if you offered a roll of toilet paper. It's a nice gesture and might get some really extra nice feedback but a green star is a green star to most people, no matter what is said in the feedback. You might get some messages saying thanks into your inbox and buyers would certainly remember you which may lead to repeat business later on, and they will tell their friends and family about it due to the surprise.
The goos thing is it may not cost you any extra in postage due to the bulky items you're selling.

Well, I guess you seriously misjudged the mood of the room (so to speak).
For some people, posting to elicit amusing responses is never a good idea on these boards. You either have it or you don't . . . you don't!
I guess you have learnt your March lesson.

I hate to point it out but aren't you also blindly following the herd when you make weak jokes about toilet paper, except that the joke's over and you've well and truly missed the boat.

Humour requires independant thought which is not a trait that the herd possess. Their only thought is that if someone else thought it was a good idea then it must be.
People have apparently lost their sense of humour, but the feeding frenzy is alive and well on the eBay Forum. So, so sad!

Hve you read any of the jokes? The only ones I have seen are aimed at the hoarders. Toilet paper has been readily available in my area for some time now, and before that Coles was setting some aside for the elderly or very desperate, keeping it in the back of the store just for them. If I knew of anyone who was desperate, I would gladly give them some of mine. Is that your problem? You have run out and getting cranky? Let me know where you are and I will send you some if it gets you off the attack mode that you have relentlessy aimed towards me with no good or valid reason. I would never aim any humoour towards anyone who is out of supplies and desperate for them. I don't know where you get your information from, maybe you don't read or understand Engligh too well, or feel to need to put your own interpretations on things.

Your humour is aimed at anyone who reads here and you have no idea who's likely to read your sick jokes. If you think that toilet paper is now freely available, why did you even make your joke about it being scarce? You must live under a mushroom if you think that shops have all got supplies again. Just turn on the tv or read the news and you'll know that the shelves are still bare in a lot of places. You got upset when the shortages affected you but you think it's funny if it's someone else. And no, I'm not short on it, nor have I stockpiled it. I haven't bought any for a few months and when I last went shopping I decided I wouldn't buy it even if there was some available because it wasn't fair on others.

On the assumption that this was a genuine question (which you now say it was not) I would have said don't do it unless you want to be lumped in as scum, selfish hoarder and all of the many unsavoury words being bandied about on these boards by members who have no idea of the circumstances.
I am in the fortunate position of having a more than adequate supply of toilet paper although I have not purchased any since well before Christmas.
As soon as the panic buying started I thought I might list some of my excess at cost price plus normal postage....making no profit whatsoever.
Before I had time to sort out what I would list the abusive posts started on here. Not wishing to be called all manner of vile names I just put it all back in the cupboard. I am sure I will have no trouble disposing of my excess to local people who will appreciate it.
