I've just opened my first Unpaid Item case with Ebay. I understand that the buyer has four days to respond. However, if they don't pay, and Ebay credits me the FVF, do I still have to send the item to the buyer? After all, I would have been paid, albeit indirectly.
I admit it's probably a dumb question but I don't want to not send the product only to face some sort of consequences for doing so.
Thanks.

If the buyer doesn't pay within 4 days, close the dispute after exactly 4 days (to the time). You will then get your fees reimbursed. NO, you don't send the buyer the item as they haven't paid. If they do pay within those 4 days, then yes, you send them the item. When eBay reimburses you, they are only giving you back the fees you paid on that transaction, not the amount that it sold for.

When you sell an item on ebay they take a percentage of the sale (9.9 % ). this is called the FVF or final value fee. So if you sell something for $10 ebay will take $0.99 cents. If however your buyer does not pay then you open a case and hes till does not pay then ebay will refund the $0.99 FVF.
The way I read your question is you seem to think that ebay refunds the $10.00 you sold the item for. I may be wrong (I am often am) but thought I would clarify it for you.
Hope that helps.
