Re: Insane shipping estimate

this is how crazy it is..........I have one going up the road about 40kms and its saying 14th-16th, yet I have one going from nsw/qld border to SA and it saying 14th-17th, How the heck is it the same estimate but 1700kms difference.

Edit: These will post be posted tomorrow.

Re: Insane shipping estimate

I know that estimates are based on payment date and handling time (well, I think they are anyway). If you were like me and had a handling time of 5 days and the buyer paid last night, you still posted today, but didn't mark the item as posted until say day 3 or 4, would that make any difference to the estimate?? Does the estimate become set in concrete once the item is marked as posted, or is the handling time still taken into consideration?

I've got a repeat buyer buying at the moment. We have spoken quite a bit via messages over the last few weeks. When she's done buying this time, I might put it to the test with her and see if it does make a difference. She seems like a particularly nice person, so I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I still posted her item the next day, but didn't mark it as posted for 4 days. Of course I would explain why I'm doing it.

There has to be a way to get around these outrageous times. I know the estimates in my sales say it's quicker to get something to SA than NSW.......I am in NSW. It doesn't make sense.

I posted 4 items today, 2 with tracking. One of the tracked items is going to SE Qld, the other is going to regional (not remote) WA. Both say the estimate is 15th to 21st.

Re: Insane shipping estimate

I'm pretty sure it doesn't take into account when you mark it as posted. Otherwise why would it give you an estimate like mine before you post. It takes into consideration AP delivery dates and your handling time. It is assumed you will post within your specified handling time

Re: Insane shipping estimate

I wonder if that's why my estimate is different to Lane's? The 2 tracking items I posted today were paid for last night, so posted well within my 5 day handling time.
