Is it just me , but are buyers more often these days not using the feedback system ?

I have been leaving feedback for my buyers, however I am hard pressed to receive it.

The services I provide are secure and efficient.

I have sold about 10 items recently and not received any feedback, I am starting to wonder why.

Very puzzled !

Feedback is voluntary and buyers are basically lazy anyhow.

Besides it's Christmas, they forget

That doesn't really answer my question.
I am aware that feedback is voluntary.
So I guess laziness is the answer.

as a buyer i leave feedback after i check the item to make sure is ok

i almost always leave feedback same day,but if im not happy i email seller first

to see if we can sort it out if we can i then leave feedback

ive only not left feedback as a buyer once, thats cause i had nothing nice to say after 2nd purchase was as bad as the first

i gave them a chance but the blew it wont buy from them again

some buyers only come on buy item then go off again maybe for months before buying again

other cant be bothered

really doesnt matter much

as a seller i do leave feedback for all transactions

Its always been a problem. Buyers often don`t realise the only thing that gives a seller credibility if Feedback, and its therefore important to leave it

I have increased the amount of feedback I receive, by messaging the buyer to let them know there item has been sent, and in the message write "if you could leave positive feedback for me when the item arrives so I know you have received it and are happy with the transaction, it would be greatly appreciated, and I will do the same for you in return"

That seems to have helped alot, as I get probably 80 to 90 percent of buyers now leaving feedback

I almost always leave feedback.

The only times I have not are when I have had a problem but it's not too major and I don't want to leave neutral or negative. If there is a problem and a seller fixes it, I leave positive.

But if you are mentioning it on a forum board, you are probably preaching to the converted, as we are most likely people who enjoy writing anyway. I look forward to doing feedback, especially when a seller has been excellent and a lot have been lately.

I'm surprised that when you beg for feedback you then receive it 80%-90% of the time as I have found that is when you don't receive any feedback. As it is voluntary no one has to leave it,so it doesn't bother me if I don't receive feedback or hear from the buyer as I then know that the buyer has no problems with their purchase.

I have mine set to leave feedback automatically after I receive it on my store id, probably about 50% leave feedback, if it gets near the 60 day limit then I leave it for them assuming I would have heard if they weren't happy.

On my auction id I also leave feedback after I receive it and about 70% leave feedback so it looks as if there is a perceptual difference in attitude to a store selling new goods as opposed to a seller of second hand goods using auction format.

I would never ask for feedback, I don't need it, I don't care if I get it or not and if I did ask I may very well get some I didn't want, any seller who contacted me asking for feedback would have to catch me in a very good mood not to receive a red dot with the comment "Here is the feedback you begged for"

I've recently found that I would really prefer people not to leave feedback at all.  Sounds strange but better that than people leaving you glowing feedback but dinging your DSR's for no reason.  I think buyers are becoming very aware that they can do some real damage to sellers with those damned DSR stars.

I've been on eBay for 13 years now, I sell on two accounts, and have always had 100% positive feedback and zero dings to my DSR's.  But in the last 3-4 months I've had 3 low DSR's to 'Item described' & 'Postage Time', 2 low DSR's to 'Communication' and 1 low DSR to 'Postage Costs'.

So I now find myself in the position that I could lose my eBay accounts if I receive one more low DSR score.

I emailed eBay asking for help but just got back an automated response that I was not meeting their minimum selling standards and gave me a list of things to do to improve the ratings.  This list included a suggestion that I should review the items that gave me low DSR scores and improve them.  That would be great if it was possible to accurately judge which items they were.  I should also review feedback comments from buyers and let their comments help me see what the problem was.  That's a bit hard when all the feedback I have received is glowing and does not reveal any issues.

It's just sad that you can be successfully selling hundreds of items a year for 13 years with no problems, then suddenly 4 or 5 buyers can destroy it all.

So please be careful in your desire for more feedback from buyers as you may just find that it is not the kind of feedback that you really want.

Don't sweat it too much, feedback seems to come in spurts.

Case in point, a while back a buyer bought an item off me and sent a nice msg along with it aluding to how much they wanted to watch the film in question, I retorted with something equally witty, (probably not) and posted it on expecting nice fb almost immediately upon receiving their item.

So nearly 2 months later,  after 52 days in fact, and I'm all, you rootin' tootin', rackin' frackin' varmints, where's my  pos fb, I get it, positive, with a nice msg.

So there you go
