I am in the middle of comms with a seller and right in the middle of messaging.....I get literally barred from responding/replying by an innocuous 'red' message from ebay stating that I have exceeded the number of replies to this message today and to try again tomorrow......WT*?!

It is to stop it being to easy to negotiate off ebay deals. If you have reached the limit then try contacting through PM or the contact link on the member's feedback page.

.....is there?
If so, can someone in the 'know' please direct me to this rule- - or fill me in, cheers
Sincere thanks:)

Never heard of that before.

As far as I'm aware there is. Can't remember how many or where to find it, but others have occasionally complained about it.
Not much you can do about it, except wait until tomorrow or email them. If you're in a transaction with them, you should have their email address.

Well.
13 hours later!!
No responses/no takers and one comment from one experienced member stating "never heard of this before...."
I have been a buyer on ebay for over 4 years-a most communicative one at that too! and I have NEVER had this occur.
......am still in disbelief over what happened

Well!
Ask eBay then; they're the ones who set the rules, not us.

I take it you weren't using PM - I know there is a limit to how many of them you can send, but messages via 'contact' in eBay I should not imagine they would be limited - maybe an eBay glitch???

eBay has had a 10-email limit on the general "contact" link to prevent excessive spam (I haven't tested that limit in a number of years). If the conversation was started though "contact:" (no item number) rather than through ASQ (an item # in the message), you may have come up against that daily limit.

Nope. It was thru ebay messages and ref. an item......I have no idea why/how this occurred.
Never had this happen before.
......as with *spooky things that happen in here there is usuallya human hand/mind involved!!
I do not believe that this was a 'glitch' in the system
Cheers to all the respondees and your imput:)
