Is there such a thing as a perfect buyer?

No offence to the buyers that make ebay go round but some things annoy me, even more so than not paying.

How hard is it to get the address right.

Really massive addresses

Give your order at least a couple of days to arrive

Is there such a thing as a perfect buyer?

After exchanging 10 emails over an address that had been confirmed after the first message I was so fed up I was almost glad to be out of the transaction....but to be accused of being rude and aggressive was just the final straw.

Maybe if I had slept on it I might have opted for a neutral but really I was not in the mood to be nice about anything.

As a buyer I have made sure that my ebay address details the town and city are both the suburb I actually reside in, much easier for sellers to import address for post processing, it is consistent with Australian post address requirements, and I can't remember when a seller has ever has sent a query regarding address.

It is the first and only time I have ever had a query in several thousand paypal transactions.  And it was confirmed exactly as required for the C &S format in the very first message.

I did not intend to sound like that I think my buyers are idiots, just simple mistakes that end up taking my time to fix. Like having to look an address up on google to find the suburb.

When I get an address that says brisbane for the suburb and the postcode clearly is not the CBD or something. Also there are alot of "west brisbane" and "brisbane west" type "errors"

In regard to the click and send there are suburbs missing from the system simple as that. And things like a hospital that have their own postcode yet the buyer will use the postcode that the hospital located within. A postcode within a postcode I guess.

It's just a waist of my time having to look into it when I am in a rush packaging things up.

Buyers that only put their first name and pay for registered post...The full name is in the paypal record but I usually only refer to the ebay sales record.

I don't really experience the name and address woes, or really any other things that annoy me or waste my time... But I do recall some other sellers who have had buyers that don't want to provide their real name (scared of online identity theft or something, I guess), so have items sent addressed to their pets.....then are unable to pick them up because they require SOD and they can't produce ID that proves their name is Snowball Smith (as a made-up example).

Hahah That's hilarious! Why oh why would you buy online if you were that paranoid of identity theft? The mind boggles.

I do have to note that as a buyer I have had a problem with sellers in China addding my name and email address to mailing lists (unrelated to Ebay) without my consent. I mark it as spam but it's annoying and clogs up my inbox frequently.

The vast majority of my buyers are great, they are regulars and are polite and leave lovely, personalised feedback which I really appreciate. I have had an issue with C&S before where it has a spaz and enters the wrong state. The buyers address is correct on ebay but for some reason in the import it defults to ACT so comes up with the incorrect suburb and postcode error. Took me a while the first time to figure it out, but now I know it happens occassionally, it's the first thing I look at if errors come up.

I'm pretty computer savvy, but I know a vast number of people aren't and those that are willing to learn are great, but I know some get a bit rude if it's pointed out (in not so many words) that some common sense would go a long way.

Actually a bit off topic, but I had this happen with the C&S person I contacted when they did the changes to the labels. He/she was so rude when I said that since the change to the labels, they don't print out properly for me and I was wondering if there were Mac compatability issues (unlikely I know but I've done worked with computers a long time and know that testing on all platforms should be mandatory but it's rare.). The reply I got was "I am the creator of the labels and I know for a fact they are perfect so to me it is obvious you are using an incorrect PDF reader. You have to use Adobe Acrobat and you go to this site to download it etc etc..." Talk about making me livid. I replied that I do use Adobe Acrobat and the size of the label being printed out is* this*, take into account the margins and unprintable space that majority of printers have, this would make it impossible to fit on the page. No responce for 4 days and then I get a "I've logged into your account and can print perfectly. Send me the label you are having problems with." Funny thought that since they logged into my account, my labels have printed correctly... I haven't changed anything I do.....

Had a big laugh when Auspost sent me a survey asking for feedback on my latest experience with them... ohhh dear.

I have had a number of suburbs that don't exist in C&S. C&S won't let you input manually and override the system.

Instead, C&S staff has advised me to find the closest listed suburb in the same postcode and enter that. Then enter the correct suburb in the address line above. Once the slip has been printed out, they advised me to cross out the incorrect suburb.

Until I found this out it was very frustrating as I was unable to use C&S for those purchases without a suburb listed in C&S - if sellers don't know the work around I guess they are going to assume that something isn't right with the address .. after all, C&S is an AP site .... and surely AP would know if the suburb existed!

Yes I must say I've had a few post codes rejected. I just print out the closest and then scribble them out with pen and put in the correct ones. They've always got to their new owners...Cat Surprised
