Item Not As Described (Dispute)

Hello,

Sorry for posting this again but I can find my original post.

I have a buyer that says I shipped him the wrong colour phone, however when I checked all my communications and the order details, he didn't specify the colour. He has now opened an eBay dispute. Should I let him escalate the case to eBay or should I just swallow it up and send him a refund?

I know for a fact he didn't specify colour. What is the best course of action?

Re: Item Not As Described (Dispute)

velo, let me tell you something that I experienced.

Once upon a time, I wanted to sell a well known brand item on eBay. I spent a lot of time searching for suppliers and wholesalers and did every security check and registration check that I could to make sure it was all legit.

They claimed to be authorized distributors of the product.

I contacted the people and asked if they were in fact one of their accredited stockists and they did confirm that they were and supplied me the relevant documentation that I needed to support this and any claims of non authenticity that may arise.

I then ordered stock.

In the meantime, the authoritive company must have started some investigation, and discovered that whilst they were in fact accredited, they had not ordered the items that they were selling, so could thus confirm that the items that were being supplied were not genuine.

They removed their accreditation.

My stock arrived, and it was fake. No question whatsoever, however, I did have this confirmed officially.

Now, imagine if I was a drop shipper and had those items sent directly to my customers and did not have a chance to inspect them for myself first.

Fortunately I had paid by PayPal, so I won my case and I would assume that PayPal did something about the fake goods thing.
