There are definatily different points of view and it seems the seller was honest about the fault. I can definately see the other side. I don't think photos are needed. The buyer would still feel cheated. SH_t happens.

I think the photo is needed as it is just too easy for sellers to say the item is now damaged and no longer available.
If it is broken, not much effort required by the seller to send buyer photo of it. Puts to end any doubts.
The OP hasn't been very specific as to what the item was that was broken and how it got broken... cookware - pans, pots (metal), baking dishes??? Handles broke of two pans?? Gluing handles back on cookware is not an option.

I understand how he would feel, I'm rather disappointed myself. I explained to him the handles snapped off as I was moving them off the table this morning. I dropped them as I had too many things in my arms. They cannot be glued back on, it would be a safety hazard. I might just send him photos, that would be easier. I understand his frustration, but there was no need for his rudeness. I tried to avoid the whole situation, but was unaware of being able to cancel the bids.my fault I understand that. Thanks for the responses everyone ๐
You appear to be handling a difficult selling situation with dignity and grace. Good on you.

Which sellers would they be?
I would have cancelled the bids and end the listing actually. But if I didn't do that, I would contact the buyer, apologise, send photos of damaged items and advise the buyer the sale can't be completed. Nothing undignified or ungraceful about that.

Let your own judging nature decide, as you normally do.

It is rather dangerous to sell something that is faulty. I could smash the hell of my pots and pans and they would still work, but still....
I would just say that you can't sell them because they are no longer safe to use...

brand new genuine Scanpans handles wouldnt just snap off when you picked them up from a table, surely>??
are these the ones that sold for $60 when you originally had a buy it now of $200 ?
and a rrrp of $1,007 ?
no wonder your buyer doesnt believe you. (sorry) I guess your buyer still wants them as genuine Scanpans would come with a good guarantee.. maybe she thinks she could take them in to DJs or Minimax or somewhere and have them replaced.
