Ebay has a specific category for Golliwogs under Dolls. There are over 30 listed. Mine was removed as it was reported and removed under the Hateful & Racist policy. Why would they have a specific category for an item if they are only going to remove it because obviously someone who has issues is offended.!!

No news from Ebay on the discussions. No email or call to us about our 85 removed listings.
I think, that they assume if they don't reply, then the "problem" will go away.
I suggest its only listings that sold internationally that were targetted (IE seen in the USA). But we have been warned not to relist until a decision is made either way.

Strange. I understand the listings for Australia only.
But an American listing just went up at 1.18pm today

ok well heres the reply I just received...
This is a follow-up email in regard to the removal of your Golliwog related item.
I apologise if we just contacted you today since we just got an update. Anyway, in accordance with feedback from our community, we have made the decision to prohibit the sale of golliwog dolls and many associated products from our site globally. We believe this is the right thing to do and is consistent with our values as a business. This is not a reflection or judgement on anyone selling the item. We thank you for your understanding and ask you to please not list these kinds of items.
Books, artwork and music are part of the exemption, however sellers cannot use the term Golliwog/Golly in the listing unless that term is included in the actual title of the media. Please make the necessary revision when you list your item.
If you are able to see sellers selling the same items, provide us the item numbers so that necessary action will be taken.
Thank you for choosing eBay.

"We can't even buy black dolls here where I live. They were all pulled from the shelves because they were considered racist. They weren't golliwogs, or mammies or anything else that others see as being racist, they were just plain dolls with hair and pretty clothes. I had a black doll when I was little, even though I preferred Tonka trucks to dolls. I loved that thing to death!
We have a 15-20% black population where I live, mostly Sudanese and Zimbabwean. They can't work out why they can't buy their little girls a black doll if that's what they prefer. They are FORCED to give them white dolls because they don't have a choice if they want to buy locally. Are they considered racist because they want to give their girls a black doll? I don't believe they are. It's their personal choice. We can buy white dolls for our white children, why aren't they allowed to have black dolls for their children? THAT is political correctness gone mad!
Australia is all about tolerance and acceptance of other cultures who want to immigrate here, yet they can't buy a black doll anywhere in this area."
what a nanny state we live in.
are we really this precious now?
tell your african friends to buy their black dolls from ebay. there are thousands of them.
