Just got this feedback...

4 stars on delivery just because ebay timing was a bit too "optimistic"

 

What a legend! This was a delivery to UK over the holiday period. It was well late.

They're not all naive bumheads after all. eBay on the other hand....

That's all well and good, but the postage star isn't for how long it took to be delivered, it's how long the seller took to post the item. I really wish buyers would read that when rating postage stars.

 

If an item takes 3 months to arrive and the buyer rates you 1 star because it took so long, and you posted within your handling time, you can have that defect and star removed.

Just got this feedback...

ebay wants them to think it's for how long it takes to arrive, otherwise they would make it very clear with a pop up of some description upon buyer leaving low stars

They make it pretty clear in the feedback section, buyers just refuse to read it. Just going off topic, the feedback that this copy and paste is from was sent with tracking that was uploaded. Note that the question is there........

Just got this feedback...

You have straight above the stars a Q asking if it arrived on time so of course they are going to think they are rating the seller on the time it takes to receive.

as I said they should have a pop up or word it differently. Like how long did seller take to lodge the parcel.

How is that any different to "how quickly did the seller post the item?"

Possibly better wording would be "did the seller post within their stated handling time?"

Then you would get the buyers who do not even look at the handling time (guilty)....but I don't defect sellers for ebay's unrealistic delivery estimates.

Just got this feedback...

I must be the buyer from hell Stawks....I don't look at handling times, ignore the estimated delivery times and don't contact sellers unless the items are overdue by my estimated times, which are far more lenient than ebay times.

And I would never answer NO to the time of arrival if the estimated date is a weekend and it arrives early the following week....that would be crazy.

 

For the most part all my parcels are arriving either earlier than the first estimated date or well within the timeframe of the 2 dates given by ebay.
