I hope this is the right place for this topic?!
Anyway, are there many Kiwis on here that use ebay?
I've used ebay for a little while and find it great so far. The people that I have dealt with so far have been really good. I've used the NZ equivalent of ebay and it fails big-time in comparison. I would have so much hassle with buyers and sellers and the people who ran the site weren't helpful when it came to resolving issues about buying and selling.
What are your experiences with ebay?
Also, any tips would be appreciated.

I had ONE kiwi contact me once on my selling id re bidding on a particular item.Unfortunately the postage costs didn't make her happy but nothing I could do as I didn't even charge handling or anything-just basic AP postage 😞
There used to be an ebay New Zealand but it seemed to automatically divert to ebay America & now NZ has another site but can't think what it is right now this second sorry.

Personally, when it comes to postage and handling fees, I think it is up to the seller to state what they prefer. If the buyer doesn't want to pay the costs then tough luck.
Was this person buying from NZ or was she a Kiwi asking about postage costs?
I'm not too sure if there has or hasn't been an ebay NZ. I think you have to use the American site. I could be wrong though.
The NZ version of ebay is Trademe and it stinks!!

Yes Yes Yes! I regularly send to NZ, and for me is definitely a growing market. Its the the more unusual and rare items in NZ which they buy from over here, but it just depends what you are selling. Cheers Paul

I'm an Australian based Kiwi and have found ebay really good.
Do you ever have much trouble selling to buyers in NZ?
There are things I want that I cant find on here so I have to buy it from NZ. I would rather do all of my buying and selling on ebay.
I was hoping that there maybe a group on here that I could buy NZ products off, so I didn't have to go offshore.

That's interesting. My understanding is TM was the reason eBay never got any traction in NZ.
Fairfax recently sold their share in TM, I believe. Don't know if that will make a difference. I always thought it was pretty good, but as foreigners can't use it, even to buy, I've never actually been to the site.

I'd doubt that.
There are other sites who offer exactly what TM does. Seller is another site that offers everything that TM does and it's free.
TM has a lot of items for sale but I find it difficult with buyers who don't pay. They bid for an item and don't pay and TM wouldn't do anything about it.
Also, they allow a lot of people with negative feedback to trade. Some of them would have at least 10+ negative feedbacks and yet they were still allowed to trade.

Plenty of top rated sellers here with way more than 10 negs. It's the percentage that counts.
Plus it's done on a rolling 12 months, so they drop off. As do the positives.

I'm not talking on that type of scale. You expect that with the bigger sellers and buyers. I'm talking more of on a smaller scale.
I've seen many people on a site like TM where they may have 15 - 20 trades and the majority of them have bad feedbacks.
Having a -1 rating as a feedback is the norm on that site. Would you buy from someone with a -1 feedback?

I just find ebay a lot easier to use compared to other sites similar to this.
I was hoping that I was able to find what I want on here and not have to go offshore to buy things.
