even though it is also bnwt. I just wanted to make sure that if someone buys the dress, they can't leave me a negative or anything can they?
I listed it stating in both the title and the listing itself that the dress is stained. And i photographed the stain.
Thanks

In this situation I'd removed the tag, wash the dress and remove the stain. Advise in the ad that the dress had a stain and tags and the tags was removed for laundering. Include the tags in the parcel when posting. People have selective reading skills. I've done this many times before and have found that it doesn't affect the sale price and people will appreciate your honesty and effort.

I would not remove tag and wash it. I would do exactly what you have done and make sure it was listed as new with defects.
IMO once tags are removed many clothing items instantly lose value, unless they are a highly sought after brand (others of course will beg to differ). If I thought that the item was saleable as it was, I would not invest any time in laundering etc.
Buyers can leave negatives and neutrals for any transanction that they do, however if you clearly stated the flaw in the listing, have clear photos showing the flaw and put it under new with defects condition category - then you have done all you need to do your end.
If a buyer did leave negative feedback that referred to flaws or features or measurements that were adequately described in the listing - then that would be grounds for ebay to remove the feedback. (Noting though that if their comment was not specific this would not be the case).
I reguarly list new items with flaws, and haven't found it a problem at all - honesty in listing descriptions and photos is the best policy I reckon. I will continue to cater to buyers who do read descriptions, and buyers who don't take it out on a seller if they don't.

What would I know ๐

Definitely should be listed as new with defects. I would also have a picture of the stain both long view and a close up with a tape or ruler next to it ilustrating the exact size.
I would make no claims that it can be removed with washing but just a little tip, you can buy a thing in Coles that looks like a pen in the washing powder part of the store which will remove a lot of stains without washing, Test it on a hidden bit under an inside seam although I have never had it leave a mark on anything.

You would know a lot possums I reckon. I think that a range of perspectives demonstrates a healthy discussion is underway ??,
Agree with PJ - that stain pen is brilliant and sometimes works miracles (sometimes not)

Isn't it just soooooo disappointing when it doesn't work?

It surely is most disappointing indeed
I sometimes find that using a teeny drop of glycerine to "unset" the mark before using the pen, can assist in shifting the tougher ones.
